I will never make a reservation again at Mama Gerdies. Number 1 they request that you give them the full payment. Now I know why. Due to a health issue we had to cancel our reservation and they do not give a refund. They only give you a gift certificate for one year from the date of your cancellation, not the date of your reservation. Please check their cancellation policy before you make a reservation.

We just stayed here one night. The facilities were good and our full hookup site had very convenient hookups. The problem I had was we tried to call ahead for information like price while we were driving, but the automated system only told us to leave our information and they woul call back. We were 10 minutes away so we just went ahead to their office. We did not get one of their premium sites and just needed a place to stay the night. With Good Sams discount it was $84.75. Maybe their premium sites are worth it.

April 2022 - we stayed 4 nights while visiting the Asheville area. This property is highly recommended by most RV bloggers. It did not disappoint. Top tier was not open for camping (too early in season), but we were able to go up there to see the views. It is a mountain side campground, so yes it’s very steep getting to and getting around the campground. Not a kid friendly campground, no park area and too hilly to ride bikes. So maybe not the best choice if you’re going to be spending a lot time at camp. Shower rooms and bathrooms were perfect. And probably the best / cleanest laundry area I’ve encountered. Staff was super helpful and very friendly.

I just got back today from staying at Momma Gerties. (11-9-21). I agree with the previous review. We stayed in the premium camp site with a great view of the mountains. A bit pricey at about $90 per night, but all the facilities were we’ll kept and very clean. It was close enough to Biltmore, about 10 miles away down I-40. Also a very nice Ingles grocery store was near the same exit, but opposite direction from the campground. It was worth the extra money. As the previous review mentioned, one must climb a steep hill to access the upper level premium sites. The road which accesses the campground is also fairly steep and narrow. Our 23 foot class B camper van had no trouble. Big long rigs would have trouble inside the campground as there are some tight turns. All in all, a great place.

I’d give this place 10 stars if I could! We stayed here in a Mountain View site (#34) and it was amazing! It’s steep going up but no problems for us. We have a Tiffin Wayfarer 25’. The site was level and we had cable hookup. Perfect for my husband to watch the World Series games:) The campground is very clean and staff was very friendly. We used the laundry and it was also really clean and nice. Close to I-40 but no noise whatsoever. Will definitely stay here again!!

As other reviews have suggested it’s a bit of a hill climb into the campground but not really a problem. We have a 34’ 5ver. They escorted us to our site and helped us back in. Very easy! Stayed 3 nights in early January. Only half a dozen campers here. Beautiful campground and had a very level concrete pad on site 22. All hook ups worked perfectly including Cable (60+ channels) and WiFi was strong. Laundry and some excessive equipment also on site. Very convenient to Interstate 40 but you hear no road noise at all. This one is on my list to use again.

The campground is set on a very steep hill, that being said we had no issues with our F250 and 30ft TT. The camp staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The bathrooms were amazing and the laundry was the best I have ever seen. It is positioned close to Asheville, Mt Mitchell, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Stores and the small town of Black Mountain are minutes away. I would have enjoyed our stay better if we had a different site. They do have some amazing sites, unfortunately ours was not one. But to get one of these sites you need to book at least year in advance.

Best campground I’ve been to so far. Beautiful setting in the mountains. Decent sized spaces. Immaculate facilities. Steep inclines, so be prepared if you have a big rig. No pool for kids but the rest more than compensates.
