Make sure you are on time. Rules state check in is 1pm - 6pm. Had a reservation and was told to find another campground to stay at since we would not be arriving until 6:20pm and no refund.

Loved this place!!!! Staff incredible. Got a beautiful lot right on the top of the ridge. Great views of the Smokies. Even a bear came to visit a couple of mornings. Very distant on the hill but still great to see. Bathrooms great! Asheville close enough for some great day trips. Would stay again in a minute!!

This place is fantastic. We were not able to get a spot up on the top (which was gorgeous), but still thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Our site was still very nice, clean and roomy. The employees were all super nice, the facilities, including the showers and laundry, were immaculate. We definitely want to return to spend more time in the area and would not stay anywhere else.

Mama Gerties is awesome. The check in was quick and easy. A guy met us at the gate and escorted us to our premium site with a deck. The drive up wasn’t hard but it is a little tight in one spot and fairly steep. The site itself was fantastic. We had plenty of room and the hookups were very well maintained and convenient. The view was awesome. We will definitely return.

We reserved an upper site, it's a bit intimidating climbing up to the upper level but once up there it's all worth it! We were led up and guided into our site. I can't speak for the lower level facilities but the upper shower house and laundry were outstanding and extremely clean! They take very good care of this park and the staff is very friendly. The WiFi was very good as well. We stayed here only 4 nights, in mid April in a fifth wheel. We definitely will be back to the Asheville area AND Mama Gertie's!!

We stayed there in August 2017. The place is beautiful! Everything is well-kept. The laundry facilities are very nice. The staff is very friendly. They are very, very helpful at getting your coach up the steep hill to the top area with a view. Lower areas are wooded and very pretty. Some sites are paved and at the very top, the sites are gravel with some grass, although not as much as I would like for the dog. We will return. I definitely recommend this campground. Only 8 miles to Asheville.

My wife and I live in Asheville and did an overnight stay here for a quick getaway. This was our first visit to Mama Gertie's, but it certainly won't be the last! As mentioned in other reviews, the upper level sites have incredible mountain views, and the lower level sites are expertly graded into the hillside. The entire park is beautifully landscaped. Because we were just here for one night, we stayed in one of the pull-thru W/E sites closer to the main office building. With our Good Sam discount, we paid just over $30 for the night, and I'd say we got our money's worth! Will definitely return and highly recommend to other RVers coming through our area. We stayed in our 21' travel trailer, but they have sites to accommodate everyone from tent campers to big rigs.

Not quite heaven, but you can see heaven from Mama Gerties. Beautiful landscaping with level, shaded sites in the lower area. Beautiful views from upper level sites (but no shade). Immaculate, modern and well maintained showers, restrooms and laundry. The walking path was very pleasant. The staff was helpful and pleasant. Very quiet and peaceful. We will return in August for the eclipse and sightseeing in the area. Highly recommended for overnight or extended stay.

Love these folks! Friendly staff, and very nicely laid out & landscaped park on the side of a mountain. There is something here for everyone from tents to cabins to RVs of all sizes. For the largest rigs, they can accommodate you, but do not understate the size of your RV & toad or tow vehicle as they know exactly what will (and won't) fit on a specific site. Please note that as of this review (spring 2017) there is a housing development being constructed on the adjacent mountainside. Some have complained about the noise... it did not bother us. I found the WiFi spotty at times, and the water pressure seemed variable. We've already booked another stay.

Stayed here in March 2017 and the upper sites were not available. Office said they close them for the Winter. So that was a disappointment. Beautifully manicured and maintained. The only reason for the three star rating is the sites are very small and NO grass for the dog.
