I see why this may be a favorite place for some. There are a lot of exciting sites and things to do; train rides take you through the ranch and the bison, there are a couple of restaurants which offer both beef and bison steaks, and there are lots of horses for horse back rides. There's a real live bunk house for the cowboys who work the ranch. There are two playgrounds for the kids. It's a great place for families and entertainment, although I didn't participate in any of it, so I cannot rate it. As far as the RV parking sites though, there is much to be desired. One of the check-in staff was not exactly rude, but not really very friendly. The roads are generally gravel and the sites are easy in and out, mostly dirt and weeds. There is no shade. Electricity, water, and sewer were fine and no problem. The sites are so close, however, that your picnic table sits right alongside your neighbors sewer hookup. The sites are generally in a state of disrepair. The internet is agonizingly slow. The park sits right alongside I-25 and the highway noise is deafening. And then there's the train at 3 a.m. For the park itself I give it 2 stars.

The RV spots are somewhat tight but not bad. Beautiful views of sunsets. Loved the train ride to feel the bison. Chris did a wonderful job during the train ride and told us a lot of history of the area and really made it fun and informative. Good breakfast diner on site. The steakhouse was great! Don’t miss the chance to try a bison chicken fried steak or the bison ribs. Both were wonderful as were the sides. Service was very good also. Will definitely stay here again. Staff at the office/store was great about accepting packages.

Disclaimer: We only use the RV park and the main restaurant (Senator’s) RV park: Check in clerk was unfriendly and unhelpful. Threw registration on desk and said sign here. Sites are gravel and very close together, and no shade. Did not use facilities- bathhouse, kids playground etc. Restaurant on site (Senator’s): Forced to sit outside at picknic table which were filthy - covered with dead and live flies. The flies swarmed our food, so halfway thru meal meal we gave up and left. Manager was totally unsympathetic. And the prices were high. Of course the main reason many families come is to see the buffaloes. Our suggestion is to continue on to Custer State Park, a much more enjoyable way to see bison and other wildlife.

I just read the other reviews and they were spot on. Some folks are looking for different things. This is NOT a destination Resort. It is a campground in Wyoming thus it is what you should expect in Wyoming. Positives include proximity to Cheyenne, cost-this is a Passport America Campground thus 1/2 price for those days, it has a Buffalo Ranch with Buffalo right there plus a very nice assortment of other farm animals....certainly entertainment for the family. Our grands loved it and still talk about the train ride through the Buffalo. With that said the sites are dirt/grass but clean and well cared for. It is near I-25 so some folks may grouse about that. We will absolutely stay there again, but we know what we are getting and we are not looking for a Destination Resort.

Full hookups in November, however site is super touristy and directly adjacent to the freeway. Friendly staff, however it’s not somewhere we would recommend you stay for more than one night.

Stayed two nights. Only gave one night discount for PA. Check In Staff friendly, will escort you to your site. Basic sites, next to freeway with train tracks on other side. Bathrooms and showers were ok. Didn’t go to steakhouse or partake any of their attractions. Visiting friends before going to final destination. Close to Cheyenne. You would think with CFD being cancelled they would be trying to attract more campers.

Reserved a spot for CFD at a higher than normal rate. The event got canceled. No refund. They won’t even advance to next year.

We stayed here after a very very long day on the road. So glad we did because it lifted our spirits seeing all the wildlife, and we had a place to relax and have a beer (restaurant too but we had our own food). It’s on the freeway so you do get some road noise. Bathroom/showers were clean. We will stay here again.

Stayed two nights. RV Park was just okay. A lot of full timers around. Would have been nice to be around more vacationers. Roads at the park are full of potholes. Site is close to I-25, can be noisy at times. Bathrooms are adequate, general store is over priced (souvenir magnet was $10). Steakhouse was very good, average priced. Didn’t check out the animal park, so I cannot speak of that. Wouldn’t stay here again, but would eat at the steakhouse. I would suggest to the owners to separate the full timers and vacationers. I know this is an RV Park and isn’t a campground, but it would be nice to have a little more room to feel like we are on vacation. If you want to stay here for a day or two, ask for a deluxe site, they looked like they had more room.

We stayed here for a night. It was good! Seems like a very family friendly place. They offered a variety of activities. We just got the basic water/sewer site since we mainly just wanted to shower, eat & sleep. Bathhouse is nice. You can tell they’re trying to renovate it to make it nicer. They also had a nice camp store. Site was just grass, super basic. But it was on the opposite side of the road up against the field. The road traffic is loud but we sleep with fans so it wasn’t an issue for us. All the staff was super helpful & nice!
