Nice looking large park. Rv芒鈧劉s are parked every which way. Too pricey for being parked next to the highway, very noisy. Staff was friendly. Next time I would stay at Lazy A campground which is 9 mile off the highway, in the country, quiet and not so pricey.

First, I will mention I did not stay here. We tried to set up a 3 week stay, and used their BookYourSite tool. The tool worked fine, and aftyer the booking, we received a phone call from a very pleasant lady trying to confirm our reservation. That was when we learned we only had a 30-Amp Premium site. No big deal, we live like this and know that we can just move to a different site or campground if needed to get the 50-Amp. The nice lady stated that she would tell her mgmt team about it, and see if they could do anything else. This is where it goes off the rails a bit. The call from the owner/manager was cold, and he clearly believed that he was doing us a favor by making his campground available to us. I politely let him know that we needed 50-amp, and he said he could not do that - again, no big deal to me. He was quick to tell me that it was clearly marked on the BookYourSite tool. The site was only listed as W/E/S Premium.... no mention of 30 or 50 amp service in that description. Then I let him know that we would find other options. He then told me we would be refunded all but $15. Again, as fulltimers, we know that they do this and the reasoning why. I asked him if that was the case since we reserved so far in advance, and he told me that it was clearly marked in the reservation tool and cancellation policy. Now, I am OK with all of this. Sometimes you get the 50 Am, and sometimes not - places have to charge a cancellation fee. Again, no problem there. But the whole time it felt like a scolding, he was not helpful, and again made it sound like he was doing me a favor. The staff seems friendly, but if you have to deal with the manager/owner, forget customer service..... or even someone polite.

Staff is rude. Manager, who I talked with, sets the tone and it obviously filters down. Some of the check in ladies are nice. It is on major highway. Highway noise. Luxury sites are closest to the hwy. when high capacity power drops, it was down to 107 volts, lights dimming. They are doing you a favor to let you camp there. Park is clean, kept well, good dog run. Some sites are roomy, most are close. We camped at Candy Hill Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The campground has a good location to Winchester area activities and stores. We had no issues with the staff. The negatives were spotty WiFi and the road noise was really bad. The campground is very close to an exit so the sound of exhaust breaks was really bothersome. Bring ear plugs. Would stay again but only for a night or two.

Great stay there. Nice staff. Great store. Bath was older, yet clean and warm. Some sites closer than we like, but we were fortunate to have a site with some elbow room. Overall, a great campground. We would return if travel allows.

Emily and staff seemed nice except Carl. Carl is awful. Called ahead. I use a wheelchair and my aide was helping me check site/facility accessibility before booking. Drove up in a nice SUV. Aide ran into main office to ask if we could look by car. We drove 30 feet in the park when Carl came up in golf cart to chase us off. Told us we couldn芒鈧劉t drive 芒鈧揾ad to walk芒鈧 and that he芒鈧劉d just sold out. Wheelchair explanation did not change his mind about 芒鈧揾ave to be on foot芒鈧. He yelled at another staff member present who was trying to be helpful to us. We went back to office to check 芒鈧搒old out芒鈧 (seemed like a lie, vacant spots everywhere). It was a lie. There Carl tried to get rid of me. Wouldn芒鈧劉t answer questions. Told me there is nothing to see here [in the park]芒鈧. Asked rude personal questions beyond the reasonable (how many adults, kids, vehicle year) : 芒鈧搃s your aide your boyfriend芒鈧. What??!!?? Left immediately, disgusted. Super convenient spot but would never give these people a dime. They charge $5 per visitor so they芒鈧劉re watching the place like hawks. That might work in somebody芒鈧劉s favor re safety, but I considered reporting them for ADA violations.

A VERY UNFRIENDLY PLACE! Avoid this camp ground if you can, unless you like rules, rules and even more rules. The staff was rude and unfriendly; they treated my family and me like we were a major inconvenience. I got the impression they cared more about their campground then the campers. It was so unpleasant we left early and WILL NEVER RETURN.

Candy Hill has many excellent qualities and some not so great. First the good. The pool, office/store, activities, other campers, restrooms, showers, roads are all top notch. The people working in the store and managing the campground were all very nice. A lady working the store one evening was very helpful and very pleasant. The store is also well stocked with food, snacks and RV items at reasonable prices. My wife and I visited over Memorial weekend and the campground was quiet during quiet hours. Seems to attract an older customer base. The other campers were also very nice. Had pleasant conversations with many. The fenced-in dog park is a good size with room for dogs to run. What is not so good is the highway noise. The campground is located right next to a highway. I found the noise of the traffic and trucks bothersome. But, it was also close to many of the attractions in Winchester. The layout of the campground is poor. Many of the sites run perpendicular to the campground road making it very tight to back in. It also means when a camper is arriving/leaving their tow vehicle is blocking the road. It's a stupid layout. Angle the darn campsites. The dump station is located so the only way to use it is to block the exit road to 50% of the campground. It is obvious the owners are working to improve the campground with many of the buildings, pool and roads looking recently renovated. I would give it 4 stars if not for the highway noise. 5 stars if the sites were angled and the dump station was in a better location.
