Williamsburg is beautiful.
This base is old and there is NO cell service or WiFi, 4G, 3G, etc....
The staff at registration are helpful and nice
Bathhouse and laundry are decent.
Again, if you need to use your phone or connect to the internet, you have to leave the base.

We stayed here for our first trip. The facilities were clean. We enjoyed the trails on base and the accessibility of the local attractions. It was a great little place for our first time.

Campgrounds are very nice and excellent location.
The gate guard was extremely rude and unprofessional.
I am never going back due to the lack of professionalism on this Navy Installation

This is a very nice and convenient campground. It is well kept. Has modern facilities. It is relatively new. There are hiking trails around the camping area. Minutes from Water Country USA, Busch Gardens, and Colonial Williamsburg.
4 stars because RV pads are not level, especially #43. Be sure to bring material to level out with. If you are in 43, bring some extra. With that said, we will definitely be staying there again.

Came for 2 nights, but ended up staying 4. Great location for all the tourist spots in the area. Almost level cement pads, picnic table, fire pit, grassy space between sites, full HU w/cable, quiet while we were there. Bath facilities could use some work (repairs) but they are private. We have Verizon cell service, reception was spotty and the Wi-Fi was slower than my 3G. Laundry was $1.50 each for wash and dry; laundry mat by the mini-mart was $0.75 each; diesel at the NEx. No camp host or other oversight that we saw - admin seems disconnected from park and don't check on it. We'd come back.

Stayed for two nights while visiting the historical sites in the area. We'd definitely go back. Full hook-ups and a concrete pad. The folks at checkin were friendly, price was in line too. There is a nice 5.5 mile trail for running or hiking. There is a shop and gas station nearby. No complaints here.

It was a very nice campgrounds BUT in the ten days we were there no one come to clean the bathroom or showers and after 3 days of having no toilet paper in any of the bathrooms or showers we had to call and request for someone to bring some toilet paper. $30 dollars per day is more than any other famcamp we have ever stayed at. I would think that for the extra money they would have the staff that would make sure these things would be accomplished by standards. It is my belief with fam camps that we have stayed at that were the best were run by military personnel. In this case private management seems to be absent. So without campers prompting management to do something we are left to fend for ourselves. November 2015

An Unhappy Camper
Just returned from a short RV stay at Cheatham. When we left home the forecast was for wet weather but not too bad and Hurricane Joaquin was going to stay well out to sea. The night we arrived things changed dramatically. Rainfall was now predicted to be 6 to 9 inches with severe flooding and Hurricane Joaquin was now predicted to pass directly over Tidewater where we live and head up the Chesapeake Bay to DC as a Cat 1 or 2 storm. So we left early to prepare our home for heavy weather. I knew Cheatham would not do a refund for early departure but I fully expected they would credit us with 4 days at some future date given the circumstances. NOT SO! If you leave early you are stuck for the entire tab no matter what the reason! Keep in mind this is the off season and campers are sparse. I left a voice mail for the office supervisor to confirm this unwelcome news. Needless to say there was no return call. My advice: if there is the slightest chance that you may experience an emergency during your stay whether it is a death in the family, illness, earthquake, tornado or Hurricane you will receive no consideration from MWR management. I recommend staying at a commercial campground. So thanks Cheatham MWR please spend my $120 wisely.

Great RV park...wide concrete pads, full service including cable. Cable wasn't that good but first time I used it with new trailer so can't blame the park. Bath house is located more to one end so it would be a small walk for some if they used it Parking is available next to the bathrooms. Individual bathrooms/shower rooms, spacious and clean. Easy to find and is a short distance off of I64. Quiet. Probably no more than 10-12 sites occupied during our trip this past week (September late). Only gas station, laundry and small PX on base. Very close to everything we wanted to see...Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown within 30 minutes all of them. $30 a night.

What a great park! Will definitely plan to return.
Had the new location overlooked the river it would have been a 5 star stopover.
