The campground is not visible from the gate! When we told the gate guards we were headed to the campground, they did not offer to give us directions. Admittedly, they were doing security checks of vehicles. The signage, as we have found on most bases, is small. Wifi was perfect! I did not notice cable TV available but we were able to pull in 20 channels on Digital antenna. There is a bath and garbage dumpster is centrally located.
The receptionist was great. She provided a map of the base however, the gates are not indicated so follow the instructions on this page in reverse and hang a left at Davis to get to the gate. The sites was not level but nothing a functioning leveling system could not handle easily. We used two levels of blocks to level out quickly, Water and sewer at each site is nice. There was some recent construction so the entry road to the campground was torn up and soft. The damaged portion was improved by the time we left the next morning. The lawn needed to be mowed. Very few trees for shade. The winds were very strong so no one had their awnings out.
The service station has diesel at one set of pumps conveniently located however, no DEF at the pump. The pumps at the service station are available 24/7.
The base gym is large and well equipped and free. If you register, you can gain 24/7. The walk to the gym is a good warm up.

We discovered it was full, but the good news is they do have an overflow area. The overflow area is about 2.6 miles away from campground. (They are planning to have overflow moved closer to the campground.)
The overflow area has electric, and one water faucet in a field next to the corner where you pull in to over flow area. The overflow is like a large parking area with diagonal lines for parking guides. You share an electrical box with two 30 amp. each box. I have not counted them but I thing they have about 16 overflow sites. We also enjoyed watching about 10 deer around us each night. Aircraft are noisy when they take off but our earplugs work well and the number of flights seem minimal
We have reservation for two nights in the main campground. The main campground does have sites with nice grass between each site. The have some trees but enough open areas if you have a movable satellite dish. They have nice showers and locations with good wifi.

This is the nicest and most inexpensive park in the Rapid City area. I stayed a little over 3 weeks and loved every minute. The first site I went in to didn't work for me because a big tree blocked my satellite dish. The RV park personnel worked with me to move to a better site. The laundry facility is clean and FREE. You can't beet the security and peace of mind being located on a military base.

Loved this park! Free laundry but no doggie bags as previously reported. Great base for sight-seeing. We spent a day exploring Deadwood, Lead, Spearfish, Sturgis. On another day we explored Custer State Park, Crazy Horse and Iron Mountain scenic drive. The third day we headed off to Keystone, Mt Rushmore and the Needles scenic drive. Then we took a day to go downtown to view the life-sized bronze statues of presidents on all the street corners of Rapid City.
Pull-through sites are not as pretty or spacey as back-ins.
We stayed here in a 34' MH with car in tow.

This was a really nice park. Green grass, level sites, full hookups and you weren't on top of each other. Great dog walk area and they even had bags and a trash can for cleanup. Restrooms and laundry were well taken care of.
We will return to this park.

Reading previous reviews, there are a few changes.
Laundry: 4 washers (HE soap only!), 6 dryers. All appear to be new and are free!
GPS takes you to old office. New office is in "Housing Office"--located NE of old office. When I walked around old office, saw the map of the FamCamp--standing there, turn around and you will see the Housing Office. I just walked over and checked in.
Concrete Sites-mine was level! (51 sites, 30/50 amp)
WIFI-worked great from my site. It has been upgraded.
Fees--1 Apr-30 Jun $23/night fhu; 1 Jul-30 Oct $28/night fhu.
12 Overflow sites with 30 amp no bathhouse facilities available. ($14/$16)
Camp is clean and maintained. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Stayed for 2 nights in a back-in site. Concrete pad was a little low in the back, but manageable. Was able to fit both camper and truck. Nice site with space for kids and dogs to roam. Included a camp grill. Wifi was pretty bad, had to walk over to office to get it to connect. Very easy on and off base access via east gate. No issues with full hookups, camp hosts were very friendly. Two washers/dryers very odd for such a large camp, a lot of waiting. There are two restroom/showers listed, but the one by the office seemed to be locked. Very busy during summer, but you cannot beat $21/night. Would recommend. We stayed in a 30' TT.

Wifi was better than most. Showers/bath plain but clean. 2 washers, 2 dryers, 75 cents each. 7 new pull through sites nearly ready. There are about 12 overflow, 30 amp sites across base. On-site workers are friendly and helpful. Express station nearly next door has diesel and easy in/out. Also best price in the area. Sites are level, fhu, concrete. The base looks new! Easy acess, signs say over 25 foot go to commercial gate, but that's not necessary. The east most gate is in sight of the Famcamp. You need to call for reservations. This is more a tourist area than I knew.

Terrible wifi, no cable, and be aware of the motorcycle rider rules!

Great place for a home base to see the Black Hills, Bad Lands, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, etc. The camp host is a great guy with lots of local knowledge for planning your tour around Rapid City and surrounding tourist places. Highly recommend. Clean facilities and close to Base Exchange, Commissary and Quick Shop/Class Six!
