Spent 3 nights here while exploring the sites in the area. It is a great location for that. Very well managed, clean and efficient. Too many kids in the pool for us to enjoy, but they enjoyed it. Nice event center with activities nightly. For us the spaces seemed too close together, but there is an upper section for larger rigs that was more spacious, and a bit more pricey.
All the sites are pull through and full hookup. We would recommend it and would stay again.

We stayed here a week to make tour of sights. Sites are gravel with grass between next site, well spaced so don’t feel crammed together. Hwy noise not bad. Good Verizon and TV reception. My only complaint …. Sites need work to be level, I think ours was the worst one, so wish they would add more gravel and make level. We would stay here again.

There is a lot of effort not only maintaining the park but upgrading. Bathroom and showers are 5 stars , friendliness and helpfulness of staff 5 star. Comfortable space between sites, hook ups are spaced well and gravel spots are close to level- only had to block one corner. 4 stars is nearness or road and railroad tracks. This did not end up being a problem but might be for some. On the other hand it seems that RV parks are only allowed to develop in these less desirable areas. Recommend for short or

Stayed here three times. Very easy in and out. Friendly folks. No shade. Close but not too close to your neighbor. Four washers and dryers. $2.00. Great location to Custer. My Rushmore. Wind Cave National Park. Breakfast and limited dinner menu.

Close to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Custer Park. About a hour away from the Badlands. Nice size campsites. Very friendly staff at check in. They also have a excellent breakfast. Breakfast is ordered and served in about 5 minutes

The park itself is nice. Great location. Plenty of space and clean.
The staff wasn’t the friendliest bunch. I thought they just weren’t kid friendly but multiple travelers without kids also said they were rude to them.

I’ve come to have no expectations when it comes to wifi, so when I realized the wifi here was very slow to non-existent (off & on), it wasn’t a terrible letdown. After all, we were here to explore the area and the campground is very convenient to do that. If you want to spend most of your time in Custer SP, Mt Rushmore & Crazy Horse, this is a great location while you enjoy FHU, laundry facilities & more. There is a gas/diesel station 1/4 mile away. Campsites are well kept, clean facilities and easy access. They were building a dog run area while we were there. Also, they have several activities in the evening (wine tasting, live music). We were here during COVID, & no one wore a mask or social distanced indoors, just saying.

Heartland RV has expanded, trees have been planted and the new Event Center has opened where breakfast is served every day. The pancakes are amazing. There are three shower/laundry facilities throughout the park, a playground is next to the large grassy tent camping area, and a new dog run is currently being constructed. The park is well maintained and extremely clean. Perfectly located 15 miles south of Rapid City, 25 minutes away from Mount Rushmore, 15 minutes from Custer State Park.

Very large park, and expanding, with few to no trees depending on whether you stay in an RV or one of their cabins. The sites are flat and they work daily on maintaining the roads and grounds. The roads and site surfaces are Gumbo. Unfortunately when I was here it was an unusual rainy year, rained almost every day, and this mud was horrible. Distance between sites is about 15 feet to 20 feet. The laundry was very clean. Their internet is the fastest I've seen, it's excellent. They had a pretty large dog walking area. You know there are a lot of people who absolutely refuse to pick up after their animals. One evening I watched an employee picking up after those who would not.

This is without a doubt, the best campground we have stayed in-WiFi is perfect, cable tv works great, staff is friendly & helpful! The sites are large, and although fairly close to each other, there is plenty of room! Close to Hwy 79 but noise not bad!
Definitely recommend this one!!
