We stayed at Round Pond for an overnight on our way to Maine. We arrived on a Saturday (Sept 13, 2024). The pros鈥攅xceptionally close to West Point, the recreational area is beautiful, super friendly staff, clean, safe, and great to see the cadets enjoying the recreational facilities. The challenges鈥攅xtremely steep entry and sharp turns to navigate getting to Round Pond鈥攚e have a 26 foot travel trailer and we changed our site location (originally 21 and moved to 11). Definitely need to have a ground guide to navigate the road going around the bathhouse. The site we moved to (11)鈥攊t is pie shaped and shared with three additional sites, so backing in can be challenging. Good news is you are 25 meters from the bathhouse and dump station. Speaking of the dump station鈥攊t is next to the bathhouse in an awkward location鈥攊f you are staying at sites around the pond you will need to drive around the pond and more than likely back up to the dump station. The only reason for three stars is the navigation challenges, especially for an overnight鈥攔eally is a beautiful location but if you have a big rig or not comfortable with tight turns and backing ability, you may want to reconsider. One last consideration鈥擨 checked the football schedule鈥擜rmy was playing away鈥攁lthough I would have been great to see a home game, the traffic would have not been another challenge, so something to consider if your overnight stay will be on the weekend.

This is a very pretty area. Campsites are very strangely set up. Water hookups are sometimes on the wrong side, the road around the pond is extremely hilly and tight. Speed bumps are placed haphazardly around the area and aren鈥檛 secured to the roads. Bathhouse was fairly clean. No full hookups anywhere. Starlink access is only possible from 1 or 2 sites but they appear to have long-term full timers in there already. Cell service is acceptable with both Verizon and AT&T. Staff was non-responsive to calls and required walkin.

This FamCamp was very nice. The bathrooms were clean and the area surrounding the camp ground was nice. It has a nice little lake . Not far from West Point. I recommend you visit West Point Museum just down the road. I would stay here again and highly recommend it.

Quick overnight, with a travel trailer. In the woods that surround a lake. Gravel on the site and slightly rolling, so be prepared for that. Beach, bathhouse and other amenities we didn芒鈧劉t have time for but looked nice. Some of the permanent stone buildings probably date to WWI. No gunfire or artillery, but I had learned to sleep through that back in Viet Nam. Our site had 30 amp, water and new picnic table. Would come back if in the area.

Close to the academy and very quiet while we were here. We got Site 18, too far for us to walk to the bathhouse. Kind of tight getting into the site, but nice to be in the woods. No WiFi, but good antenna tv reception.

We full-time RV in our 40 ft 5th wheel. We loved this place. We heard some artillery fire, but no mortar. Property was beautiful and well kept. Arthur in the office was very nice and accommodating. We would love to come back.

Beautiful place to camp. Easy to make reservations. Check in was smooth. We booked a couple nights staying in site #9 by the bath house. It was very nice and we had a great view of the lake. We enjoyed it so much we decided to extend our stay. We moved to site #C16. It was much more secluded and surrounded by trees - very beautiful. I will say the higher up we were, the more we were able to hear the firing range. We didn't hear it at all while staying by the bathhouse. The mosquitos were much worse too up in the foliage. I wish I had a screened in tent to be able to enjoy the outdoors more. The temps were wonderful, the views and area is just gorgeous. We did like that we were very close to West Point and enjoyed exploring the amazing campus. So much history and beauty. We enjoyed it here so much that we have already booked our return in September. We camped at Round Pond Recreation Area in a Motorhome. My only negative is it's not located on the base and anyone can access the area. So we had to lock everything up each night and when we left the site. When we are on a base, we don't need to worry about locking everything up. We witnessed the camp host having to tell people to leave the beach area and were told this happens often as there is no gate.

This is my first season camping with my rv; but I have already been to 6 different campgrounds. So far this was the absolute worse. My site was near the camp office; and almost right on top of my neighbor. My dog was even bitten on the face by the Doberman these people had with them! Then to make matters worse, mortars were continuously being shot off all Sunday morning. The constant gun fire noise was bearable; but the mortars sounded so close; I felt like I was back in Iraq! My poor dogs were terrified. I can imagine what a Vet with PTSD would go through. They do not warn people about this, and they really need to. I won芒鈧劉t be going back!

A favorite of our cross country trip with 2 small kids. Site c1 was perfect for us, next to playground and pond. Most RV sites seemed wooded and spread out. Tent sites looked charming. Super playground, fishing/bait store, staff on site, beautiful area, no bugs. It is a hilly drive in and bit of walk to bathroom. No internet and our t-mobile had barely a bar, but actually worked decent at night. Lots of gunfire heard from range and cadets recreating on the weekend. Loved it all! It is off base, but a visit to the academy was easy for some history and shopping (great commissary, so-so Exchange)

What a gem the Army has tucked away in the hills above the Academy. Nice level and shaded site with a pretty view of the lake, and a great camp hostess who actually helped us go out and gather some firewood 冒鸥藴聛
