Stayed 1 night for 4th of July 2016
It is basically a parking lot with water and electric. Very visible security staff. Great Cell service. VERY convenient to NYC and local attractions. Be aware the is a lot of construction going on and at 5 AM construction workers start walking through on their way to work. Avoid site C24 as it has a gate in the back and random people walk through to get to and from the adjacent parking lot. We did not use the rest rooms so we cannot comment on those. The dump station has a ring above the hole in the ground ( I guessing to lock it closed) that prevents your dump hose from sealing, causing some messy splash back. I would still go back for the 4th of July ( in a different site), the view was great and proximity to all the activities was great and hopefully the construction in the area will be finished.

We stayed at Liberty Harbor for the NCAA Division One Wrestling Championships in Madison Square Garden. We camped in a travel trailer with other friends that were also in a travel trailer. After reading the reviews, we were cautious. We have stayed in an urban RV Park in St. Louis many times, so were prepared for something similar. Unfortunately for the Campground and Marina, there is major construction being completed all around the location. This caused us to have to make last minute changes to arrive that our GPS did not report. The change in directions brought us through the "back side" of the marina area. Not the best entrance, as there were very poor roads and the scenery was not the best. Once we arrived, the RV Park was what we expected. A parking lot with spaces that have water and electric. There were a few "long term" RV's on the lot that were quite unique. All around were stored boats and also boats docked in the marina. Our space was large enough to easily accommodate our 30 foot travel trailer and full sized truck. The base was gravel, but the site was very level. We had to add one board to level from side to side, which was expected. The restrooms were immaculate, the showers were immaculate, had fabulous water pressure and wonderful hot water! So, the RV Park had everything we needed, water, electric, and hot water. We were about 5 blocks from the Path train that took us quickly to Madison Square Gardens. We had a wonderful long weekend and would definitely return to this Park with anticipation that the construction would be finished and the end result will make the location even better. The immediate area had many adorable Shops, unique Markets, and a very large Grocery store in easy walking distance. From the RV Park location, one could easily explore all of NYC, with the ease of easy entry pulling a camper. We came in on I80, then 280, then several smaller streets. We had no trouble navigating the streets pulling the RV. I didn't give the Park five stars because there is always room for improvement.

Overall you pay a lot of $$$ for a parking lot with electric and water. It's also very crowded with no shade options. The bath house was clean and the staff was nice but dealing with construction and finding a grassy place to walk the dogs made for a more stressful trip than I prefer.
Also, I never saw a view of the Statue of Liberty and I think I caught a glimpse of Ellis Island once. Had I climbed on top of my trailer it may have been different.
If you just want a place to park your camper to the go explore the city, this place is fine. Otherwise, better find someplace else.

After reading the reviews, I was expecting something dreadful but we found just the opposite. We had a nice lady at check in who was very accommodating giving us an information packet and getting us a NYC tour the next day. The location is great with a connecting light rail 6 min walk to the station. We bicycled to Liberty Park (10-15 min) to take the Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty ferry. The bathrooms and laundry room was clean and the Internet functioned well. There was no sewer connection but there was a dump site at the camp ground. There is a working boat yard adjacent to the camp ground but I didn't find it annoying. The nights were quiet and peaceful.
We stayed 4 nights and did all the tourist things in NYC. We would stay here again.

Lots too small. Unkept. Over advertised. Big disappointment. Woodall gives it too high a rating. We use 32 foot RV. WAY TOO CROWDED AND OVERRATED.

I'm usually the person who reads reviews but rarely ever posts reviews. Sorry, I am bad like that. But this place is bad enough that I felt compelled to warn others.
As others have said, the location is very convenient to NYC. Great view of Statue of Liberty and close to public transportation. But that is why they got the one star rating from me.
We tried to get the water/electric hookup but I guess two weeks notice wasn't enough lead time. Had we gotten the W/E hookups, maybe we would have gone to 2 stars. So we decided we would be self sufficient and just use their "dry camping" area. After all, we have generators and water tanks and can stay off the grid for 3-4 days.
I guess to Liberty Harbor, "dry camping" means parking your camper in a shipyard... Old boats, junk piles, and construction equipment. But we are all about the adventure, so we thought we could make it work. Since "quiet time" is between 11p to 8a we had to shut down generators and open windows. It is an active yard, so people were continuously walking around, working on their boats, big construction equipment moving around etc. There is also a parking lot for the ferry next door so people were loud when they got back from NY late in to the night. Quiet time was definitely not quiet.
As for the staff, they couldn't be any less helpful. They could care less about their customers and whether they enjoyed their visit or not. It sort of felt like a Jersey scam where they take your money and *literally* send you to the shipyard. All they could say in their smug voice when I raised my concerns about what dry camping meant to them was "no refunds."
If you can get the w/e hookups, maybe it is worth it. If not, avoid this literal dump at all costs.
