We stayed in campsite number one and enjoyed the privacy and peekaboo view of the lake. There was a short path to a beautiful sandy beach where we enjoyed watching the gorgeous sunset. We stayed for one night and found the restrooms and showers very clean and the staff very friendly and accommodating.

We stayed in this park one night the weekend prior to Independence Day. The park was full, but we were able to get an overflow spot, which had good tasting water/electric. This is a nice family park right on the lake with large spaces and clean bathrooms. We didn't use the showers, but there were some available. The staff was very friendly. Our only complaint, which was very minor, was the bright lights that come on at night to illuminate the roads in the park. They were so bright they lit up the inside of our trailer when we were trying to sleep. We come through Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula in the late spring/early summer every year and will definitely stay here next year on our way west.

Sites along the lake are nice. The rest are OK. You need extra water hoses plus power extension cords because the runs to your utility hook-ups are long.
I lowered my rating one star because of the office staff's inability to fulfill reservations that were "confirmed." We were told on arrival that our reservations were being reduced by a day and we wouldn't have the sewer connection we paid for. And we were not alone in having our reservations changed by the park at check-in. I hope the city government is better at delivering on its promises than the city-owned campground.

Beautiful park, the interior rods are in pretty bad shape but the views of the lake are awesome! The dump station, shower and restroom building are new and very nice. We experienced rain while here and several sites were "unusable" due to high water so beware of rainy conditions. We were here in mid Sept. In a fifth wheel. We would come back here.

Excellent camp ground. Everything has been updated and brand new including a new bath house, electric and water hook ups. Excellent views of the water from every campsite. Nice sandy beach. Just passing through but would certainly stay here again.

Unlike most other reviews, our stay here was delightful. We were lucky enough to have secured site 96, right on the water. Beautiful sand beach a short walk away. The views were fantastic. Unbelievable views of the islands, sunsets and constant wildlife. We are self contained and our site had full hookups so we did not use the public bathrooms. Nothing to complain about. Wonderful three days. Loved it.

Very nice location. I would have to agree with previous campers that the restroom facilities are less than ideal. Poor design and not clean. Lots of trash around bathrooms and showers. Would not stay there again.

Beautiful view on the lake but the restrooms on the west end are terrible. The floors are wet and muddy and it is almost impossible to take s shower or use the john without getting your clothes filthy.

This was our second stay at this park; 1st was in 2008 and it was our destination from Florida this year. And while this isn't the fanciest or most modern campground, it is green and beautiful and directly on Lake Superior. It rained 2 days prior and there are muddy holes in the rutted roads in some areas of the park. We didn't see the office staff at all our first day. But the location makes up for it, right outside of Munising and access to Pictured Rocks Nat'l Lakeshore. Note that there ARE full hookups at this park, some directly on the shoreline. And many lakefront sites with E/W. The views and location make up for some of its faults, and we will definitely return when in the UP again. Note also that GPS may not be accurate. If heading west you go thru Munising and Grand Island township, then park is on the right.

Lovely views. The bathrooms are not nice. There are no hooks for hanging clothes, the shower floor puddles and the entire floor is wet with no rubber mats.
