Hidden Gem KOA. Lovely place. Doreen at the front desk was the nicest lady. Easy check in. Greg assisted my husband to our site. Quick and easy back-in. The store had everything you would need. They had a wonderful selection of souvenirs too. I saw other reviews about the airplanes and train noises we didn鈥檛 hear a thing while in our RV. Super clean restroom. This KOA offer shuttle bus to the WW2 museum. Drop us off at the front door. Which was awesome. I give 10 stars if I could. Thanks again Doreen!!

Very helpful staff however, the train noise was very loud and the airplane noise from the nearby international airport.

Good size sites, friendly staff, predictable KOA experience. Bit west of town but close enough.

The night manager (I believe his name is Mike) made me a fan of the New Orleans KOA for life. Let me quickly set the stage芒鈧
A few weeks ago, we crossed the country in a rented RV. This was our 2nd time in an RV and we are most definitely newbies. Earlier in the day we stopped in a parking lot to have some lunch. We turned on the generator and began to microwave leftovers when we lost both the roof AC and the microwave. We still had lights, etc. but we had lost power to at least those two appliances.
I checked the fuses and the breakers, and everything seemed fine but still no power to the roof AC and microwave. We didn芒鈧劉t know what we芒鈧劉d done. We hurriedly ate the cold food and headed for the New Orleans KOA where芒鈧劉d we reserved a full hookup. We figured that when we plugged into the site power, we芒鈧劉d likely bypass this problem and be fine.
Nope.
We got to the KOA at around 11:30 PM after 12+ hours of driving. We just wanted to go to sleep. A young man with a golf cart helped us back the rig into a space and left. We plugged into the site power and芒鈧. nothing happened. No microwave but much more relevant 芒鈧 no AC.
This is August. In New Orleans. 85 degrees plus and 400% humidity (ok, it just felt like 400%). Words don芒鈧劉t really describe our dejection.
I called the young man with the golf cart thinking he can point me to a repair shop for the next step or maybe he can provide some insight to the newbies. He called the night manager. Mike came over and quickly found the problem 芒鈧 nothing we芒鈧劉d done 芒鈧 but poor wiring to the transfer switch had caused a fire and fried the circuit. I asked Mike if he could point me to someone who could fix it tomorrow 芒鈧 resigned to spend the night with no AC.
Mike said, 芒鈧揌eck, I芒鈧劉m going to fix it for you right now.芒鈧 And he did. He got a big toolbox and rewired the transfer switch. By flashlight. At midnight. In the dark, humid, all of sudden, wonderous New Orleans night.
We tried to pay him, and he refused saying that if his customers aren芒鈧劉t happy, he芒鈧劉s not happy. In the future, I will go out of my way to stay at the New Orleans KOA because of its leadership. And you should as well.

Staff was super friendly and helpful, as we are coming to expect with KOA. :-) The site itself was unimpressive. A large parking lot with a few tiny trees provided little shade. The train, ohhhhh the train!! I had such a hard time sleeping. My daughters loved the bath house, said it was really nice. Unfortunately we had to bug out early because of a storm rolling in, so we weren芒鈧劉t able to take advantage of the shuttle.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We arrived in town early and they worked hard to accommodate us. We had a brother stop in town and decided to help us celebrate St. Paddy芒鈧劉s Day and the resort gladly assisted with storing a trailer he travels with. The service to downtown was a great option and the staff at the front desk were excited to thoroughly explain the 芒鈧搈ust see places芒鈧 while in the area.

We love this place. Very adequate sized lots, pretty level, easy to bike ride on the levee to the zoo and 10 miles the other way. Very nice staff. Free and very entertaining shuttle, the driver takes different routes and tells lots of history, be sure and tip, there芒鈧劉s no mention of it. You can receive mail there. The laundry is nice and inexpensive. We actually enjoyed hearing the trains and boats. No highway noise which was wonderful. The wifi is adequate, better than most parks. The price is very reasonable especially since you芒鈧劉re so close to New Orleans. I never saw the bathrooms or showers so can芒鈧劉t say. I can芒鈧劉t imagine giving this place a bad review.

Awarded 2 stars because the staff was great, but multiple train tracks with hourly horn blasts day and night, as well as, the nearby airport and a NOLa resident on the other side of the 8' property fence who was extremely fond of ear splitting music w/ gut wrenching bass. Imossible to sleep, or enjoy down time at this campground. December, 2017.

I'm not normally a fan of KOA, but for NOLA this was an excellent choice. Only $47 incl tax, free shuttle for daytime (9:00AM depart, 5:45PM pickup), but be sure to tip your driver since they don't ask or hint. Nice clean bathrooms, well-kept pool, great deal on laundry ($2 total wash & dry!), and super friendly staff. $30 cab or a little less Uber for night ride home.
