We always enjoy stopping here on our way west. Nice people very helpful. Had a wonderful dinner at Captain Jack's Pub and didn't have to drive anywhere to get there because it is right in the campground.
Large sites with full hookups, and huge, clean restrooms.

Park becoming pretty ratty. Lots of goathead thorns all over making it not very dog friendly. lack of rain has made charcoal grilling illegal. Ok for an overnight stay, but not very appealing otherwise. Recommend getting further off the highway if possible.

Cap'n Jack pub at High Plains RV Resort makes the visit! Staff is friendly, and Cap'n Jack loves to visit. Had a Kobe burger. Jack says it's imported from Kyoto Japan. It was great! Cooked medium rare. Very unique menu, but Cap'n Jack is originally from
Chesapeake, Va. Oil pipeline workers are booking the park up, so I would advise on getting a reservation.

Campground is conveniently located off of I-70 with easy access. Pull thru's are a little tight, if all were occupied. Gravel road/gravel sites. On site cafe and pub which we will check out tonight. Little pricey @ $36, but there's nothing out here in the plains of Kansas. There's a pool and hot tub. Smoking is not permitted in the park!?! Would recommend it for an overnight stopover.

the owners of the park are so helpful! They steered us in the right direction with looking up info on our trailer, giving us a guy to call to help do some work on our camper. Then they came by to see if we got everything fixed!
