Right in the thick of an old redwood forest. Sites are decent size and flat. It is pretty tight for a larger rig with all the trees. Great lace for a night or two. Very damp under the trees. Not sure if it ever drys out.

Park is in a wonderful redwood grove and is rustic. Roads and campsites are gravel and dirt so it was pretty muddy during our two-night stay--rain most of the time we were there. Hookups are OK, although the sewer hookup was too far forward for our 21' Van, but it worked out OK. Reasonably priced and friendly staff. Clean restrooms and showers.

We spent two nights at Emerald Forest with our 20芒鈧劉 TT in site 6. Full hook ups, everything worked fine. Site was near the front of the park, near the frontage road. Some road noise in the evening, but after 10 traffic dropped off. Park was very quiet, possibly due to the bad weather- we had two nights of heavy rains, which brings us to the only concerns we had. The sites and roads are gravel, but could use some freshening up. We were squelching around in the mud in our site any time we went outside, and it was almost impossible to avoid tracking it into the trailer despite a PVC mat and a doormat at the base of our stairs. Also, in our particular site, the sewer hookup was towards the front. Backing in far enough that I felt were were properly out of the road forced us to deploy two stinky slinkies to barely make the reach. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn芒鈧劉t use any of the facilities, so we can芒鈧劉t comment. Internet system was recently upgraded, and worked great, we were able to stream Netflix and Amazon With no problems. We would stay again, but only during dry weather until more gravel is applied.

Camp is nice and maintained well. The staff are super friendly. Had to move to a different spot due to the uneven ground. Staff was more than helpful. My only complaints are the wifi was almost nonexistent in spots and T-Mobile has zero coverage here which is not the camps fault. I would stay further south if I came back into this area.

We stayed 2 nights here, nestled among the redwoods. It was quiet despite being filled; great bathrooms (with heated floors, no less!); has a gazebo, play area with horseshoes, cabins, gathering house, dog run芒鈧漰robably the prettiest place we芒鈧劉ve camped with our RV in 4 months of traveling. Office people were friendly and very helpful. Nearby Trinidad is a fun little town with a great beach and spectacular views芒鈧漺e芒鈧劉d stay here again, for sure!

Nice park among the redwoods if you don芒鈧劉t have noisy neighbors who party late after 11pm. Luckily the owners did talk with them and they packed it in. Sites are pretty darned close to each other. Site 20 is good-a pull through with room for a slide and no one but a redwood on one side of your rig. We were in site 7 which seemed rather hemmed in on both sides. Bathrooms toward the front are nice. Hot water works and stays hot. Small store where check in is. Owners seem friendly.

Very nice. We made a couple trips to see the redwoods from here. Makes a nice place to base out of. The Larrupin Cafe is just up the road. Very spendy but very good! Check that -- very, VERY good. If you go, make reservations. We also ran down to to Eureka to pick up a prescription. Bottom line is that you can live among the redwoods, be close to the national park, and get to civilization as well.
WiFi was functional. As others have mentioned, cell coverage is better outside the park.

This is a nice RV park that also offers small cabins for rent. The RV spaces are among tall redwood trees and the name Emerald Forest rings true as you open your eyes and senses to the surroundings. There is a sense of 芒鈧搑ustic芒鈧 based on the hand painted signs, numerous fish cleaning stations, and the wooden style of the exterior of the camp buildings. It made me feel like I was in my own version of Tom Sawyer every time we were outside. There are two different bath houses. The one at the front of the park has 3 unisex bathroom/showers and is quaintly wrapped around a Redwood tree. These units are very nicely styled on the interior and give a spa like experience when you enter them. The showers were hot and had steady water pressure. These were very popular and on occasion, we had to wait for our chance to use them. The restroom/shower building in the back had a more dated feel. There was also a community room that had an accessible restroom/shower that appeared more dated than the one we used in the front of the camp. The campground has two 芒鈧揼reen spaces芒鈧. One is among the tent camping area and provided a nice soft grass for gathering and enjoying the company of other campers. The other green space was in the middle of the cabins and had a nice gazebo along with a play area for the children. We saw families enjoying time together on several of our walks through with the dogs. A very unique feature for the children and the young at heart that we saw was a video Arcade that had 2 old pinball machines and a couple of older Arcade games. The campground has several trash points throughout which was a very nice feature for those of us that have dogs along. The camp store as well as the laundromat are quite small for the number of campers they are able to entertain at this campground. The laundromat is in a small building nestled into the rental cabin area and have 2 washers (2.00 for 35 minutes) and 2 dryers (2.00 for 60 minutes). It was nice to have everything dry in one dryer cycle! The camp had a lot of tent campers along with RVs and the rental cabins. There was a nice loop around the campground that provided a .46 mile walk workout on our app each time we took the dogs for a walk. There is a dog park but we only used it one time as I noticed there were quite a few vines that had thick thorns that meandered into the dog park. I was nervous about the dogs curiosity ending up with thorn issues. The small town of Trinidad is very close and has a quaint grocery store called Murphy芒鈧劉s that we were able to pick up staples and a nice meat selection for a small community store. We enjoyed walking the beach in Trinidad and found Seascape Restaurant to have a very nice view and tasty fish-n-chips. There is a very nice cove by the restaurant where the water was calm and some neat tide pools to see crabs and small fish. We also stopped for wine tasting at Moonstone Crossing Winery and picked up several bottles. We stayed here in our 22 Ft Airstream and enjoyed our stay. For those with slide-outs, many sites might be tight or may not fit your needs as not all sites are wide enough for them. Our major complaint was the Wi-Fi was very weak and the campground Direct TV had multiple issues and the service was disrupted during our stay. AT&T cell coverage was not available for us inside the camp but as soon as we exited the property, our coverage was fine. We stayed here for several days while we explored the many wonders of the Redwood National and State Parks which is about 22 miles north of this park.

You are amongst the redwoods and there is a nice dog park. However, when you consider the bathrooms, think junior high camp. Our site was small. There is dust everywhere. We didn't even feel we could eat a single meal outside. Would not stay here again.

Ended up camping here for a couple nights after realizing all the state park campgrounds in the area were full. It worked out great... clean bathrooms, laundry and showers. Camping right next to large redwood trees. Internet didn't reach our campsite but had a strong Verizon connection. It's also close to Trinidad which had some great restaurants and a good grocery store. Fairly busy but would totally stay again.
