For Deer Creek Campground: Oct. 2020: Stopped in this campground just out of curiosity, luckily didn芒鈧劉t expect to stay because the 7 sites were all occupied. The access road widens to a very small turnout/parking space within a few feet of leaving Burr Trail Rd. If you are driving anything linger than about a 19芒鈧劉 van, STOP AT THAT TURNOUT. Walk from there further into the campground and see if there are any available sites, and if your rig is short and small enough to get in and out of the campground. The entrance is posted with a prominent sign prohibiting vehicles 20芒鈧劉 or longer. We didn芒鈧劉t ignore that sign, and recommend others also not ignore it. The camp sites are ok if you芒鈧劉re looking for a basic place for a tent or short Class B van conversion or similar size rig. Remember there芒鈧劉s no drinking water available here. There芒鈧劉s enough scrub brush and low trees that most sites are somewhat private; most are also fairly smooth and level. The main road is nearby so there would be some traffic noise and dust at all sites. The surrounding scenery is spectacular and makes up for any of the campground芒鈧劉s shortcomings. The stream next to the campground was low but flowing, which added to the positive atmosphere. If you芒鈧劉re ok with staying in a developed site and having a vault toilet and neighbors nearby, it芒鈧劉s probably a good place to stay overnight in this area of incredibly attractive natural features.
