For Hawleys Landing - Heyburn State Park: We really enjoyed our 3 nights at Heyburn state park. Loved the bike trail and the huge bridge just for bikes to cross the lake. Liked the short Marsh boardwalk hike and the Indian Cliffs 3-mile loop. Plus, got to rent kayak from Rocky Point marina ($10/hour) to go to hundreds of water lillies with eagle flying overhead. Sites have good space between with pine, larch and cedar trees towering above. Bathrooms with showers were nice and clean. We had 1-2 bars Verizon LTE. we would stay here again.

For Hawleys Landing - Heyburn State Park: Hawley's Landing: Campground was nice enough, showers were great. The state park is nice, but there is a lack of information posted on bulletin boards. Try to get there while the visitor center is open to get advice on the marsh walk, where to rent kayaks, the biking trail, and where the other campgrounds are (two other campgrounds in the park several miles from this campground). The paved biking "trail of the couer d'Alenes" is very nice, 8 mile flat lakeside paved ride from the state park across a bridge and up to Harrison for a lunch or snack break.

For Hawleys Landing - Heyburn State Park: Nice campground in a beautiful setting. The camp sites are not especially private, with a few exceptions. Many have only 3-5 feet of open space between them. Most have only somewhat level vehicle parking spaces, not too wide or long (large RVs may be pushing the limits of accessibility). Most if not all sites have a fairly large, level, clean gravel pad with a picnic table and room for a small tent, and nearby a metal fire ring/grate and possibly ground space for a tent. The split firewood is plentiful ($5 per bundle from the camp host), if burning is not prohibited due to fire danger. The bathrooms building appears new, and is very clean, well lit, and heated in cool weather. There are 4 shower stalls total, 2 in each section (Men, Women). All 4 have their own private dressing area. There is 1 芒鈧揌andicapped芒鈧 accessible shower in each section. There is no extra charge for the showers, (except that non-campers pay $3). The RV Dump is located just inside the campground entrance near the office/visitor center. The dump is on a short gravel loop, easily accessed either entering or leaving the campground loops. Although the dump area is a gravel surface, the waste inlet is set in a small sloped concrete apron. The inlet is below ground level so gravity dumping is easy. Rinse water is available. Fresh (芒鈧損otable芒鈧) water is also available from a faucet signed 芒鈧揇rinking Water芒鈧 about 50 feet away from the waste inlet. Cell voice and data reception (AT&T, Verizon) is somewhat weak. Plain SMS text (not using data) is a bit more reliable. There are some trails in the area, but we had to ask park staff to get any details - advertising the walking/hiking options didn芒鈧劉t seem to be a priority here. Many sites were occupied by families. Children play, dogs bark (especially at the many bold picnic table-raiding squirrels), so don芒鈧劉t expect a totally quiet experience here. The 芒鈧揘o RVs芒鈧 loop had cars with tents, but we also saw a pickup with camper in that loop, so it芒鈧劉s unclear how the park defines 芒鈧揜V芒鈧. Finally, the forest and lake views are beautiful and help make this a very nice destination overall.
