For Hickory Lake Campground: Called 2 days ahead for a 2 night stay. Was told to pull up to gate on arrival and just honk. Did that. No one there (4:30 pm). Rang phone. No answer and went to voicemail. Knock on office door and house inside gate. No answer. Resident showed up and said no one attends weekdays after 3 pm. Let us through to turn around. Mostly seasonal residents. Sites grass roads gravel. Took the tour and decided to move on to plan B.
