For Powder Creek Use Area: I stayed 5-24-2025. It says 22 sites, but most of them are overgrown and apparently not being maintained. Fortunately, it seems the ones right on the water were cared for. I did need to use a few leveling blocks and the ground was a little soft because of recent heavy rains, but not too bad. I stopped here for an overnighter over Memorial Day weekend. I was the only one camped here, but there were a few people driving through from time to time and a few using the day use area who all cleared out just after dark. Very peaceful stay. I came down from Hwy 12 from the north. Lots of big rolling hills on a gravel/dirt road, but the road seemed well maintained. I have Verizon and there was barely enough cell signal to stream videos, but using my cell booster made it a little better. There were toilets available, but I did not check them out.

For Powder Creek Use Area: Just car-camped for an overnight on the way from Chicago to Oregon home while avoiding totaling boring I80. Perfect 525 miles from Chicago. A scenic little lake tucked away abt 4 miles off of Rt 12. Was the Tuesday after the Memorial day weekend an I was the only one in the campground. Looked like it might be good fishing. Would stop again if I was headed this way.

For Powder Creek Use Area: Hidden gem. No power or water but usually 2 of the 3 vault toilets are pretty decent. Usually keep up with mowing grass and camping pads. Nice little dock. Decent fishing. Gravel road to get there little scary most of the time. Great place for solar powered campers.
