For Hickory Ridge - Grayson Highlands State Park: We love this park. There is so much hiking at the park. It is a state park, so sites are not “perfect “. Our 35’ 5th wheel fits in some but not all sites. There is one dump station, the bath house is well maintained we come here every summer to escape the heat, hike the numerous trails see the wild ponies and relax. This campground is quiet and we enjoy its many vistas of the surrounding mountains .

For Hickory Ridge - Grayson Highlands State Park: Visit in June of 2021. Good: Two camp stores adequately stocked with extended hours. Bad: Camper site not even near level. Sites lacking gravel. Sites offer no privacy between campers which makes all the screaming kids and barking dogs even worse. Bath house old and moderately clean. Only one dump station, (one receptacle), per camping area. No signage to dump station. Dump station rinse out hose old and broken. Most trails require driving to parking area. Classification of trail difficulty questionable with a moderate trail being 731 feet of elevation with constant climb. This park is not for Seniors or those in search of relaxation.
