For Mustang Island State Park: Stayed a week in early August 2016. The Good - solid 50 amp electricity at 120 even during the heat of day & 3 A/C units. Office staff was accommodating even if not super friendly. I had no issues and they let us stay over a day w/o reservations when the park was full. Decent beach access but you have to walk or drive. August was hot & humid. We'll come back in Fall for another visit. Sites are level gravel/tar but it is a giant parking lot with minimal personality. The Bad - Wi-Fi is free and open but not strong enough at the far ends of the park (we were in #47 of 48 sites) No shade. Picnic tables are all set side by side so half of the sites are on the road side of RV and half are on the curb side. We pulled in to have the tables outside our door. Your neighbors table is about 2 feet from your table so neighbors are very close at the tables. Good if you know/like your next door neighbors but dismal if you want your own space. Hookups (no sewer) are at the end of each site so have extension hoses for water & long power cords for electricity.

For Mustang Island State Park: Stayed Nov 2015. Four stars for camping on beach, minus one star for campground. Sites are side by side, showers are far away. Worst mosquitoes we experienced in the south. No one outside late afternoon. No wonder lady in office cringed when we walked in to check in. Also sign on counter said no refunds. Now I know why.

For Mustang Island State Park: Beach is great but it is simple parking type stay. Bathrooms are so so.

For Mustang Island State Park: RV sites are gravel and are level. Picnic tables are partially covered. Showers and restrooms are well maintained and clean. Camping sites are 50-75 yards from the beach. Primitive tent camping available on the beach. Tents can also be setup on RV sites.
