For Belvedere Lake Resort: An indicator of what to expect when you plan on visiting a new campground is the customer service and the friendliness you experience with your first contact, usually with your booking online or on the phone. As a senior marketing manager for a very large company we know what we pay to get new people to pick up the phone and call us, it is a big $ number per contact. We also work hard on first impressions and we are the most successful in our industry.
In the case of contacting this campground, I took the time and filled out their online form and additionally left a message on their phone during business hours. It was a short notice (8 days) request for a holiday weekend where I knew that they were quite possibly fully booked but their web site impressed me.
In any case, I never received any return contact. It is quite simple to cut and paste some text that says Thank you for contacting us but we have no availability for those dates, hopefully we can look forward to you visit when we have availability in the future or something to that effect. Belvedere Lake Resort did nothing.
If that is the first customer service experience, what can visitors expect when they do visit the location?
