For Ely Lake Campground and Equestrian Park: Sites are big and are fairly private from each other with lots of trees and brush. Site was primitive and not very level. Markings were lacking telling which way to go to get to site. Had to get out and walk around at an intersection to figure out which way to go. As long as you don芒鈧劉t mind gravel roads, no hookups and a primitive site it芒鈧劉s an ok campground.

For Ely Lake Campground and Equestrian Park: Busy, busy over Labor Day Weekend! Camping sites are large and plenty of space from other campers. Foot trails are great! Put in a few miles over the weekend. A little fishing in Ely Lake. Walked to Little Tom, don't know what that lake is like. Might give winter camping a try this year. Ely is open. Hunting takes place all year round, and according to the Allegan State Game Area staff, there is no reason to stay away from the Allegan State Game Area just because of hunting season. It is a safe place to enjoy the forest activities year round.
