For Great Pond Outdoor Recreation Area: Great Pond is a great place to visit and open year round. We have a 38’ class A with a tow behind. Site 18 was ours, water and electric only. We stayed in June for 3 nights at $25 a night. There is a multitude of living accommodations from tent sites, Yurts, a tiny house, rustic cabins, lodge and full-on cabins where all you need is food and you. The only wifi is in the rec center and basically zero cell service. There are a lot of mosquitoes so bring your spray (non in the small store). Be careful on Great Pond Rd coming and goi g with a big rig because the trees with hit the side and top of your rig. There is nothing with in 30 minutes to do but Bangor and Bar Harbor are good day trips. Bath houses are clean and free DVDs in the rec center on 2 of our rainy days. Definitely worth a visit!

For Great Pond Outdoor Recreation Area: We loved our time here. Spent a week in September, weather was perfect. We took a day trip to Acadia National Park and on our way back found the perfect lobster dinner for 15 dollars in Trenton. Sites are definitely spread out and wooded. Cell service is super spotty but staff was super knowledgeable about the area. The WiFi was great at the rec room. We will definitely be back!

For Great Pond Outdoor Recreation Area: I love the large rv sites. September was beautiful but although the road is in is now paved we hit a branch on the way out. Bummer that whomever trims the trees roadside doesn’t take the job seriously. Nice looking cabins but the gossip was 1 individual rents a certain cabin over and over and this really shouldn’t be allowed. You’ll need a 50’ water hose if rving .

For Great Pond Outdoor Recreation Area: Although road is a bit rough going into facility big rigs can easily navigate to it. If you like quiet and remote, lots of hiking, water activities, boating, kayaking rentals and nice clubhouse this is a hidden gem. Bring all food and stuff when you come as a decent store is about 25 miles away. No internet except clubhouse. No cell until you drive to top of hill 1.5 miles.

For Great Pond Outdoor Recreation Area: Very disappointing. Longest roughest road we have ever driven. Not recommended for motor homes. Tree limbs low and lost a run light to a limb. Thousands of knats greeted us. Gravel needed desperately. Rained during our stay and our car and Rv looked like we been mud wrestling. So please if your going to visit check your weather. Too many trees. Need extra water hose the connection is at the road on the passenger side very inconvenient.

For Great Pond Outdoor Recreation Area: Great family campground! Very friendly and helpful people. Main lodge had games,snacks, big screen TV, pontoon boat rides, beautiful sunsets. Best to just stay a while! Road going in can be rough so go slow otherwise one of the best kept secrets in the military!
