For Bayou Segnette State Park: We stayed here 12/27/19-1/2/2020. This park is great if you are wanting to visit New Orleans and save some money. Only about a 15 min drive to French quarters. All sites are paved, and appear to be pretty level. The after hours entrance is a little funky, I am glad we didn芒鈧劉t have to check in after hours. Well kept park, as others have stated. We will definitely be coming back. The only drawback I saw was that there was only 1 dumpsite, so plan accordingly when you leave and don芒鈧劉t be in a hurry. Overall we had a great trip and can芒鈧劉t wait to come back.

For Bayou Segnette State Park: We stayed at Bayou Segnette for 2 weeks while visiting New Orleans. We loved it. The location can芒鈧劉t be beat, only a 25-30 minute ride to downtown New Orleans (which we found had abundant parking even with our big truck) or a $25 Uber. The sites here are so spacious we felt spoiled. Definitely review the map before booking your site and try to book a site on the outer loop versus inner... just feels even more secluded. All sites are paved and some have a deck. They were great and spacious enough to have our 2 dogs out on leads with plenty of room to roam. The park itself doesn芒鈧劉t have a ton of hiking trails or anything, but there are little boardwalk trails throughout and a long walk to the cabins so you can stretch your legs. PS. The cabins here are AMAZING (brand new builds right on the water) and if we ever come back to Nola without the RV we are staying there! The park staff does a good job of patrolling the area while not being too crazy about the rules. They pulled our Uber driver over for going 40 in a 20, but they are pretty chill overall. Other random things: It芒鈧劉s true that there is free laundry here, but since it芒鈧劉s free is not the best. Slow dryer and there芒鈧劉s always a wait.. but hey it is free! They allowed us to get packages delivered to their main office and kindly held it for us. The main entrance gate closes at 9pm and you have to use a separate side entrance after that time. It芒鈧劉s fine, but also doesn芒鈧劉t make a ton of sense because the side entrance is still open for anyone to use... so not sure how it芒鈧劉s a safety thing. PS. We never used the bathhouse or any of those facilities so we have no review of them. Overall, a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back!

For Bayou Segnette State Park: Great place if you are visiting New Orleans! Wide spacing, super quiet. Free washer and dryers! Pretty area. Felt very safe. Half price with senior discount made it very inexpensive. Friendly staff. Easy to get to and maneuver around. Highly recommend!

For Bayou Segnette State Park: Closest state park campground to NOLA. 20 min drive to Algiers Ferry terminal and from there a less than a 10 min ride across the Big River. We got street parking at Algiers which was free all day - as far as we can tell - at about 10am on the day after Christmas. The campgrounds are clean, but in some cases the campsite itself is not designed in the way you would expect, where the table and fire pit is to the passenger side of your rig. Ours was to the rear of it, but it also afforded us a couple of trees for a hammock.

For Bayou Segnette State Park: September 2019 stay, 40ft 5th Wheel. Great quiet location with a 10-12 minute ride to the $2.00 Algiers ferry over to Canal Street and the French Q. The park is well grassed with paved roads (access road need a little attention but not bad). Some shaded sites available. Most sites will have morning or afternoon shade. We had wooden deck, concrete pad and table with about thirty feet between sites. Good facilities, but no sewer hookups. Dump station on the way out. Boat ramp access in the park. Unfortunately the gate assigns sites at check in, GGggrrrr,..... !!, even with only 15-20% occupancy during our stay. Fantastic fresh catch of the day seafood markets just down the street from the park main gate!! Will return again.

For Bayou Segnette State Park: Clean. Quiet. Nice playground. I felt the sites were a little too close to each other. About 30 min from NOLA. When you make your reservation you receive an email confirmation with a gate code. So glad we had this gate code, as we did not arrive until just after 9pm. Decent restrooms. Laundry area was between men's and women's restrooms but amused that the sign for laundry was posted right next to the sign that said "Women". Not offended. I'm sure it was unintended. This was really the only camping option near to NOLA, so we are glad it was comfortable. Would have liked to be a little closer, but this was okay.

For Bayou Segnette State Park: We stayed here for 4 nights while we were visiting N.O.L.A. We are travelling with a child (10) and a dog.
This is a State Park so no sewer hook-ups but there is a dump station as you are leaving. We had a site directly behind the comfort station to the right of the boardwalk. We were a bit worried that we would be bothered by traffic along the boardwalk but this was not the case at all, it was very quiet. Sites are large and grassed, some have nice wood decks and the pads (asphalt) are relatively level. The comfort stations are adequate, relatively clean and in working order. Laundry is available and free, although both comfort stations had 1 broken laundry machine when we were there. There is some road noise from the car traffic on the highway as well as boat traffic but it wasn't too bad while we were there. It takes about 30-45 minutes to get into the various tourist areas of New Orleans from here depending on the time of day. There is a ferry which will take you right to the FQ which is about 15 minutes away, but we did not take it. Firewood is not sold but you are free to pick up any dead and fallen wood you see and use it. We saw quite a bit of wildlife (snake, armadillo, birds of prey) for a place in such a populated area.
