For Pennyrile Forest State Resort: They have now blacktopped the lower sites but unfortunately they did not address the problems with being out of level. My camper is 26 feet long and maybe would fit on three or four sites? Some of the sites reminded me of the blades of a pin wheel you had as a kid, that much curl to some of them. There appears to be sewer hookups now on all of them. Good for smaller campers but be sure to bring some leveling blocks. Luckily the upper horse sites were empty so I pulled into one of them for my stay. At least they are level side to side. Clean warm showers and did some hiking while there.

For Pennyrile Forest State Resort: The spots are narrow and uneven. The circle near the camp registration/store is tight. We were spot 56. There was a concrete curb to protect the adjacent site so it was a little tough for us to get in. Pretty quiet the beginning of the week but by weekend it was packed but everyone was nice and respectful! There are full hook up horse camping spots not sure you need to have a horse to reserve those spots. Didn芒鈧劉t look like people there had horses. So we芒鈧劉ll try to book those spots next time. The dump station is in a awkward location between two camp sites. So if someone芒鈧劉s car may be in your way if that spot is booked. The bathhouse was useable. There is one washer and dryer but it芒鈧劉s outside of the bathhouse and didn芒鈧劉t look clean. The price is right and it芒鈧劉s near our friends so we芒鈧劉ll be back.

For Pennyrile Forest State Resort: Pretty park. One big problem. About all the sites are really short and none of them seemed anywhere close to level. I mean tilt city. We had our choice of lots of spaces and couldn芒鈧劉t find one kind of level one. There are some premium sites that might be better but we didn芒鈧劉t explore them. There芒鈧劉s a camp store/check-in building. Nice attendant. I probably won芒鈧劉t go back unless they do something about their sites.

For Pennyrile Forest State Resort: I hate to give a below average review on this really beautiful park with great recreation activities for the entire family, however the campground does not have a host or entrance gate. This seems to allow non-campers to visit the campground at all hours. Would suggest staying there when there are other campers around.
