For Dowdy Lake Campground: Forgot to add to former review. A hike/bike path goes completely around the lake.

For Dowdy Lake Campground: You need a reservation! But it is worth planning ahead. If you check site regularly there are cancellations. Campsites are not on top of each other. We tented first two nights right on water #021. Got another site higher up for a third night #62, thru camp host, and only short walk down to lake where we leave our kayaks. No motorized boats so water is pristine. No swimming but kayaks, paddle boarding abound. Rock formation protruding out of lake make for an interesting journey and fishing spots. Camp hosts do a great job of keeping everything clean and in order. We will definitely be returning.

For Dowdy Lake Campground: We stayed a mile away at West Lake campground, but drove thru this one and it looks great, especially if you can get a site along the lake. Good size lake with people kayaking and paddle boarding. Had 2 bars LTE with Verizon.
