Plenty of space in dispersed camping area south of Turquoise Lake. Nice trails. No problems with our 21 ft TT. Suggest that you get some distance from FSR 48 due to ATV and car traffic. Also, Leadville hosts a lot of races so these campsites fill up during racing weekend. Beautiful view of Mt Elbert and Mt Massive. 4 miles to town, Dump station nearby on 24 ($10) and potable water can be obtained behind Rodeo Grounds on McWerthey.

Dispersed camping just to the south of the Turquoise Lake rec areas. Quiet, flat (no leveling required), good cell signal all made for the perfect start to our camping season.
Word of caution-google maps gps coordinates take you to a rather treacherous route...instead, at the Sugar Loafin campground (private), bear sleep ghost to the left and about 1/4 mile on the left will be lots of dispersed camping spots!
