Beautiful campground. Easy access for Class A 45’ with tow. Drive-in theatre is next door, but it wasn’t open when we were there. Dollar General and restaurant are walking distance from the campsite. The campground is beautifully and lovingly maintained.

Very nice and well maintained campground. This CG is conveniently located to Mt Rushmore and other attractions. The owner and staff are very friendly and take pride in this campground. Sites are large and pull thru. We would definitely stay here again.

Awesome place to stay! VERY friendly owners. Nice layout with gracious sized sites. Super clean facilities. Jerry helped us know what to see beyond Rushmore & Crazy Horse. The Needles Hwy. was spectacular, thanks Jerry! Will definitely return here because they know how to roll out the Welcome mat!!!

Wow we were so pleasantly surprised. This place is a real gem. Super friendly owners and camp hosts. Close to everything we wanted to see in the area but not in the center of things. Was exceptionally quiet with only the night skies above. Doesn’t has a lot of amenities that families want like pool, game rooms or playground. Ideal for us older folks! I guarantee I’ll return here when I’m in the area again.

This campground was an u expected gem for me. It is very clean, close to the hwy, but far enough off to be quieter. It is very well cared for. What I really like is all the sites have picnic tables, and there are nor horrid mercury vapor lights destroying the night sky. The sites are nicely spaced, with grass in between. All these are important to me. No pool or playgroud, so families with kids may qha e different priorities.

Made for a great one night stay. We are in a camper van and didn’t need any hookups, so stayed in the tent site. The RV area looks nice - clean, level ground. The tent area is closer to the road, so road noise was an issue. The showers are free, super clean, and plenty of hot water. The bathrooms overall are great - clean, well stocked. Laundry room has multiple washers, with a standard $1.50 for each wash/dry. Note that there is a drive in theater next door. The hosts - who were friendly and helpful - said they think movies play every night except Sunday and Monday in the summer, but they couldn’t recall exactly. We paid $10/person for the night.

Great campground! Very clean, quiet and convenient to all attractions. Many of the other campgrounds in the area were cramped and some were very muddy. Southern Hills sites are very spacious with level gravel parking for the RVs and concrete pads with an adjacent grassy area and tree for each site. Plenty of room for our large motorhome and tow vehicle. Did not use the restrooms and showers, but the laundry was very clean and in good repair. Owners live on site. Our stay was wonderfully quiet and restful. We will definitely stay there again!
