Stayed in the highlands #240 easy access backing in 28’ trailer decently level great location for our 2 and 9 year old to play at the playground. The whole experience was great, very clean park and amenities. Quiet park not overly crowded and has a nice little store if u forget something.

Very nice campground. 75% of campsites were flat, no problem getting my 23 ft motorhome level. Beautiful setting. Creek side RV sites were quieter and more private. Highlands RV campsites were more open and fun for our younger campers. Bathroom at Highlands brand new and spotless. Showers were located back down in store area. Hosts and staff are very friendly and helpful. We rode bikes, hiked and played near the creek. Website very complete; I Registered online with ease. Store hours were limited. Firewood available from a vending machine. Dump was clean and set up properly. This is a great choice for families who are coming to visit Starved Rock or Mathison State Parks.

Remote camping on a hillside with nothing flat for $$$ the state park was full and this was empty no surprise.
