What a wonderful find! Reach Knolls is a small well kept campground that was created just eight years ago and is right on the water. The rustic sites have electricity and water is readily available . We enjoyed four nights at this campground as we explored Deer Isle, Brooklin, and Blue Hill. Lori, the owner, is very welcoming and attentive to campers needs. We look forward to returning.

Nice, small rustic campground with beautiful rocky beach and sunset views. Campground is very clean and electric hookup worked fine. Our only criticism is with the lack of privacy between sites - there is none. Fire pits are located by the road in some cases and there is virtually no landscaping between sites so everyone is in full view of everyone else. Made for interesting campfires and evening conversations. You could see everyone and hear everyone’s conversations. Granted, we were not expecting a boondocking experience but some trees on between sites to give some privacy would be nice. You are quite a ways away from anywhere with major supplies - 30 minutes to Ellsworth. Just be prepared when you get there. Overall, a beautiful area for peace and quiet if you don’t mind people all around you.

This campground was exactly what we were looking for. The correspondence before we arrived was great, and when we drove up we were greeted at the door. The owners were so friendly, and really cared about our needs. There are 3 clean showers, 2 inside, all open 24 hours. Coffee in the morning is available, and there is a free book and DVD library. Several privies are located throughout the grounds, all clean, with a mirror, garbage can and hand sanitizer. Many sites are private, all have electricity. There is a dump station, and water spigots in several places. We were told we could fill our RV from these. We walked down the path to the beach, and loved seeing the boats go by. When we return, we will definitely stay here. If you are looking for a pool and playground, besides the big rope swing and grassy areas, this isn't your place. If you are looking for a warm and peaceful spot, this is perfect! We felt so welcome and at home.
