Stayed here one night and it was GREAT! We would stay again. It was beautiful and relaxing. Great views and great place to walk and get some exercise. We saw deer right in our yard. There is a little bit of dirt road to access this spot but we made it just fine in our RV.

Only had the chance to stay one night here but it was great. Lots of short hikes criss cross the Campground with some wonderful views.

Wonder Campground for FREE. It’s only 1 mike on the main road from Royal Gorge Park. Road in is a little rough. Use GPS to get there. When you get to the Y in the road go to the left for the RV sites. When you get to the camping area stay to the right for RV’s. If you are looking for night sky photo opps the sky’s at night are dark. I got some great shots of stars and especially the Milky Way. Dry camping only and we were able to stay 4 nights.

Wow! What a jewel! Wonderful free campground at around 6800 feet. Marked campsites with tent pads and very nice picnic tables and/or shelters. Quite a few very nice trails. Also has toilet. Looks like it fills up fast on weekends. Some campsites okay for smaller RVs. Was a little windy. Rough road. Only a mile or two off of pavement. Good Verizon signal. RV/tent combo sites have amazing views overlooking Canon City. This was a very nice free campground. High desert so hot, dry, and windy but great place to start acclimating for us low landers! Some Jeep tours came thru a lot as well. Don’t expect isolation or seclusion here but most of the spots have more room than the majority of pay campgrounds.

Very nice and quiet here. Not all sites are level but #5 was perfectly level! Great view and some nice shade around the spot with a tent pad if you need one. Excellent fire pits and nice picnic tables at every site.
