19/10/17 A very busy park. Too close to Denver on weekends. Some nice spots along the lake but in demand. In October in spite of the restrooms being locked. Pit toilets only. The entrance fee plus camping fee. Electric only was $44. Too high for our taste. And the usual reservations only hassle for transient travellers requiring multiple trips to the visitor Center if you wish to see the site first. Colorado could go to a system similar to other states with reserved sites tagged and others available first come first served.

This was the perfect spot for me to try out my new RV. It's early in the season so the bath house was closed, but there were lots of lakeside spots available during the week. The grounds were immaculate. This is one of the nicest (and only?) campgrounds in eastern Colorado. It was a bit pricey, though. $31 for electric site. A few sites are less expensive, but best suited for tents.

Ok if you're traveling through but I wouldn't tent there for long. Grass was long(bugs) and the showers take quarters. The lake is nice though. Not close to much of anything.
