Thisplace is so scenic and rich with American history. A few online searches will tell of pirates and Indian raids as well as numerous historical figure and their writings while experiencing this region for the first time... Mark Twain to Lewis and Clark. Later a foundry was built into the hillside and the old ovens are still right down a really short walk from the campgrounds. As well, there are many ghost stories surrounding the area. A foundation of an old home stand atop tyre devils backbone with a story that is bone chilling Not to mention the scenery. Grand Tower a limestone formation stands in the middle of the Mississippi River like an island. I would definitely recommend making a visit.
