We came for the sandhill cranes and were not disappointed! Cold and windy and below freezing at night (Decemeber 2) so come prepared. Road in is rough but well worth it.

Rough roads going in. Go slowly. 3 day max in a 7 day period to stay. 5 spots to camp in. No one there during the week. The Weekend picks up a little bit. Verizon and AT&T worked fine here. Lots of shot gun noise on Saturday morning? No idea why since it is a bird sanctuary. Lots of birds and coyotes the last night.

Go slowly on the entrance road and you will be okay. Find a spot and relax. Wonderful and all for free!
