My wife and I spent the month of February 2023 at Idlewild Lodge and RV Park. We are in our 8th year of full time camping and have stayed at hundreds of different campgrounds each year. This is the first campground that felt like a resort. We were treated with friendly respect and the operation was a wonderful family affair. The new owners have spent close to 2 years rebuilding an old fish camp on Lake Panasoffkee. There was always a fire going outside the pool area. They added a food truck for breakfast and lunch. There is a large propane fire pit near lake side with benches all around. There is free fire wood for your campsite and free washers and dryers. This is a campground that my wife and I could see ourselves returning to every winter.

I did read the one review which was written in 2017. The campground and lodges are all under new management, and has all been totally renovated. Please do not base your opinion on this past bad report. I stayed there this fall with my granddaughter and found it to be absolutely beautiful and all completely modernized. The staff are all very family oriented. Couldn’t have asked for a more friendly and welcoming staff. Grounds are well kept, with a large central fire pit where you can sit and visit , watch the sunset over Lake Panasoffkee. The cabins have all been totally redone, very modern, plenty of hot water for showers. Comfortable beds, and a kitchenette . The RV sites are spacious! I can not wait to go back to this place, my granddaughter and I loved it! Peaceful, clean, quiet! I didn’t see one thing to complain about. There is also a Swamp Fever Airboat ride, on their property. We did that too! So much fun.

The camp site is beautiful and fresh. They have cabins available, too. New owners have really turned this place around. Lake Panasofkee has fish just begging to be caught.. And, airboat tours of the lake are available.

I was just there, New ownership , just opened brand new, it’s one of the nicest I’ve been too.
