3 stars. $38 is not $$ but should be $$$$, very misleading. As are the no water, no electric sites that are walk in remote tents sits certainly not rv friendly, Did not stay. Waze was confused and had us headed to the lake to returnto Rt. 2. Return the way you came in.

We stayed June 20-22, 2021 in site #13 in our 40' motorhome with tow vehicle. We had a great site with beautiful views of marina and water. Not sure why this park was so empty. It's a great rv park and decent prices. I guess because it's a ways off the main highway. Our gravel site was mostly level - we did use 2 leveling blocks on front tires to get good and level. We had water and 50 amp. No sewer but dump station is by marina, not too far and included in camping fee. The bathrooms were very clean and very nice. We saw a mama deer with her baby in the woods by the bathhouse. It was so peaceful and quiet. We loved our site #13 with unobstructed views. All sites are back in except one of the three handicap sites, #18 is a pull thru. We will definitely return when in the area. We camped at Saxon Harbor Campground in a Motorhome. Bring quarters if you want to use their showers. Four quarters needed to start water flow. I was able to wash and condition hair as well as wash and rinse body. Probably could have shaved legs if I would have been quicker. Closest food is in Hurley - about 20 minutes away.

This campground is reopening in one week..so August 14, 2020. There is a beach, boat ramp and a new marina. We couldn’t stay because it wasn’t open yet, we just happened on it as we just wanted a little nap😴. Everything is brand new and looks very nice. No trees on campsites yet though.

The harbor is supposedly re-opening in August of 2019. The land for the campground is cleared, so that's in the works. Until then, there's an old guy that runs a bar/campground about a mile away from the harbor. I dry-camped there for $15. In response to the review below - lots of RV folks are basically "transients". What is the difference, really? This is typically not the sort of area that sees hobo-like activity. It's not on the way from any point A to point B. It's uncommon for people to end up here on accident. I would encourage people to disregard that review.

This campground was destroyed on July 11 2016. 10 inches of rain washed out campground and marina. Tragic loss of life .

Late noise, lots of partying. Did not go past 11 or 11:30 but still. Mostly for tents for transients. Not much for RVs really, just a few.
