The road in and out required 4wheel drive in dry weather. The grass was in bad need of cutting. The space we were in was not level and took blocks to get near level.

It isn’t often you find a place that is centrally located, quiet, clean, FH and the owners make you feel so welcome and comfortable from the first moment you arrive. We were only planning on staying a couple days but stayed for 6 nights. Right next to Crazy Horse near Custer and Hill City, Mt Rushmore and Needles Hwy. so happy we found this tucked away gem. Thank you Gary for making our stay so pleasant

This campground is a hidden gem. If you want an off-road, friendly, mountain experience, this is the place. Gary and his wife are very helpful and accommodating. The property, and there is quite a bit of it, is open for exploration. More experiences than you might think available to you, just ask. We stayed here two nights in a 23’ motorhome. Hookups just fine. Tenters well accommodated in well-spaced campsites. Bathrooms clean, need some updating, but meet the standards of DW. Quiet, within view of Crazy Horse monument. Would come back here in a heartbeat.

Like the previous review, as you pull in you don’t see special this place is. Gary is a personable host who gave kids a ride on his fire truck and maintains a hiking path passing 3ponds, an old homestead, abutting National Forest, and home to deer, turkey, and I’m sure other wildlife I didn’t see. Restrooms were clean and adequate. Location just4 miles from the town of Custer, and under 30 minutes to Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, and see the Crazy Horse Mountain on the driveway in.

Wow did this place surprise us! Couldn't find nicer hosts! Gary and his wife are super! The campground may not look like much when you first drive in but don't be fooled. Full hookups, level sites, tent sites, cabins, showers bathrooms plus laundry! And the best part is the gorgeous fields and cabin in the back! Gary keeps his land meticulously mowed and the ponds are great for fishing and or paddle boating! What a beautiful spot! Very peaceful and quiet. Just what we were looking for. Very close to downtown Custer and Custer state park and Sitting Bull monument. The price was great too! Definitely would come back here!
