Very nice private campground. Large sites and off the road so you do not hear the road. Close to all the sites in the area and the town of Custer.

Great place, sites were spacious. Very quiet and beautiful setting. Lots of trees, close to town. Staff were helpful. Only complaint was poor water pressure without a pressure regulator. One of the best parks I’ve stayed in.

I would have give this one a 5-star but the did not do us right several years ago. We had it booked for a week then on the 2nd day my Mother passed away in Panama City, Florida and we had to drop everything and make the 5-day trip to Panama City. They did not refund our money. We now stay at Buffalo Ridge RV Resort in Custer. It is nicer and closer to town. There is nothing wrong with this park, I just feel they did me wrong.

Beautiful location, clean, quiet... but 1 bathroom with 3 toilets/ 2 shower stalls right by office is not enough for this large park. WiFi does not work- people huddle around office trying to get a boost...

Nice sites, not too close to each other. WiFi was really slow and not a lot a of shade, otherwise I’d give it 5 stars. It’s off the road and very quiet. Water was fine

Park is well maintained gravel sites with grass. Location is good for Rushmore, Crazyhorse and Custer. Restrooms and showers were respectably clean. Gravel road entrance, water is brown (we didn’t drink it), don’t buy propane here $4 per gallon Ouch! Not sure where all the 5 star reviews are coming from, this is just an average park. Stay at Custer State Park if you can, much nicer.

Very nice park, well maintained with a lot of beautiful grass. Level parking, good WiFi and close to major attractions. Satellite friendly means all the trees were cut down when they built the park. We enjoyed staying here and would do so again

This big rig friendly park is very neat and well maintained with the beautiful Black Hills surrounding it. It is in the middle of the national forest but very close to the town of Custer and Custer State Park. Amazingly quiet and peaceful with spacious room between you and your neighbor. The pads are gravel with the one I stayed in being perfectly level side to side and front to back. It was more than long enough for my 40' RV and truck. There are picnic tables and fire rings at each camp site. Fire wood is available at the office (DO NOT use wood from the forest since it is illegal to do so). The hook-ups are all in the proper places and in good working order. The restroom and showers were clean and in good repair. You will see wildlife in the park. We saw deer and chipmunks. Most sites are back and are more than long enough for the biggest of big rigs; however, check the angle before you back in. The office sent me the wrong way and I was trying to back in at 120 degree angle. When I turned around to the correct angle, I easily backed in. The roads are very easy to maneuver with a big rig. There is no cable, but plenty of air channels and not to many trees to interfere with satellite. The downsides are weak to non-existent wifi (as with most parks), no fenced dog park, low water pressure (20 psi), and brownish water that looks yellow after going through my RV water filter. All in all a great little park that I would gladly stay at again. We camped at Custer's Gulch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Full service campground. Cost reasonable with GS discount. Flat sites with plenty of distance between sites. Sites are big making back-in easy. Internet is actually functional....able to download several movies without issue. Office staff is truly exceptional. We came in a day early and they were great finding us a spot. They had a place for us to park the next day so we could vacate while we waited for our assigned site. Our site backed onto road used by ATV's but we didn't really notice excessive noise. Really close to Custer State Park. We enjoyed the wildlife loop, a hike along stream at Grace Coolidge, Legion Lake, and a drive on the Needles highway. Read the warnings about Needles.....very narrow road and two very narrow tunnels. Would return.

Visited here early October. Great location for sight seeing. Off the road enough that there was no road noise. Sights are level and area is open as opposed to camping in the lodge poles. Deer visit every night when the sun sets. Really good wifi. Didn't use the showers or other campground amenities so only gave four stars. I would recommend this place to family and friends.
