Pulled in without a reservation and used their online reservation system to determine which sites were open, selected a site, and then made our reservation online. Be sure to check the electric before you settle on a site. Our RV surge protector showed problems with the 30amp service on the first site we tested. There are 100 sites and about 1/3 were full on a Tuesday night. Quiet campground except for occasional train noise.

Easy to register online, nice secure area. Easy to find spaces, small oak trees for shade, full hookups. $38.50 per night including tax. Quiet. Lots of place to walk dogs. Large trash barrels every few sites. Clean. No showers or restrooms available. Good stay!

Nice safe campground. No frills. Called ahead to reserve (kind of a weird process) and were told it was electric only, $35 a night. Pleasantly surprised to find our site (#21) was a full hookup! Level ground, grassy area, some trees for shade. Seemed like a safe area. Railroad kind of closed that was somewhat noisy into the night. Good deal for a quick stop overnight

I've never stayed here, however I've brought my camper here to use the dump station a few times. $10 to use dump without staying overnight... IF they bother to come out. (50/50 so far) hose is very high pressure, 2 dump lanes, street lights are good, but on opposite side of camper from dump ;) open 24/7

29 ft motor home pulling a toad. A no frills campground but not expensive ($30/night), safe, and water, sewer, & 50amp power all worked for us. We stayed in the back of the campground in site 97 which was level and fit rig & toad. Site was gravel, grass & packed earth. Nice grassy area for walking our dogs. The check in process is different. No reservations but you can call ahead to check if sites are open. On arrival, you pick your own spot (so check power & water before deciding ) and call to have attendant come and complete the process. All sites are back in … but pretty wide. As noted in other reviews, there are few amenities other than hook ups and the road in is dusty and bumpy. Still , this is a gem if you want a modestly priced campground with great access to Raleigh/Durham.

Surprisingly nice place to stay - essentially a parking lot with hook ups on grassy sites. Our electric didn't work, but used the one next door since we only need 20 amps. Friendly security. Just choose a spot and call them to pay. Bathrooms and showers are available down the hill at the fairgrounds, but might be closed if there isn't anything going on there. No picnic table. Good for 1 night, friendly people. Stayed March 2022 in 18' campervan

A very safe place to camp when visiting family in Raleigh. Full hookups but no bathhouse if you are not self-contained. Gravel, clay roads can be dusty and rough. Worked great for us.

The check in process has changed a bit. My suggestion is to cruise the campground selecting an open site. Careful to select a site that is not out of order. Since they are open year round they have a lot of frozen water connections. There were 20 ot of order in early April. I recommend you walk to the hookups and check for yellow tape, it can be easily missed from your vehicle. Once selected return to the checkin booth you passed on entering and call the number posted. Security will quickly arrive to complete the process. I would say on this my fourth visit the sites are showing a need for some work. New gravel and perhaps fill in the low spots. Still an excellent location and a good choice. Remember there are no bathrooms or showers and picnic tables are not provided. Filled with large Class A and large trailers. At 21 feet I was by far the smallest unit here.

Positives: Friendly and helpful staff, convenience to the city of Raleigh, big park roads for backing in the camper Negatives: no weekly or monthly rates, constant TRAIN traffic with whistles blowing with a railroad near the grounds, poor internet Full hookups with 50 amp electricity are frequent.
