This is a beautiful campground on the shore of the Tennessee River. Owned by the TVA but managed by the same family for 23 years. Paved roads, large gravel sites, large grassy areas, many trees, grassy overflow camping area, largest playground I’ve ever seen, water/electric utilities, central septic dump. Mixed permanents and transients. When I first arrived, the manager, Mickey, was pressure washing the playground equipment. Bathrooms are very clean, centrally located. Quiet, occasional train across the river but only distant rumble. Overall a great campground run by an attentive, but not intrusive family.

As a full timer, there are few campgrounds that I find wonderful. This is one. Owned by the TVA, but managed by Mickey and her family for 23 years. Nestled on the Tennessee River, it is peaceful and quiet. The occasional train across the river causes no bother. The bathrooms and showers are very neat and clean, the utilities, water and electric, are good. The nicest and largest playground you could imagine. Paved roads and gravel sites with concrete tables, well cared for grass and trees. Large overflow camping area as well. Mickey was pressure washing the playground equipment on my first arrival. Plenty of wood and firepits available. Overall a wonderful place to stay.
