Convenient. No reservations required. Spots fill up early on summer and temperate weather weekends so get there quick. If you have a roof top tent, you can arrive late and camp at the overflow apron by the entrance, which people don’t normally use.

Beautiful area! Small campground, first come, first serve. So worth it! We boondocked in the motor home, as there are no hook-ups, but it’s cheap, sites are large and fairly private. We got a spot right by the river. One of our favorite spots.

Great spot, can’t beat the price. River is right there, camp sites are pretty clean, great fishing. We stopped for a night on our way through with a 3 year old and a dog. Worked well for our purposes. Caught four fish before hitting the road again. Drawbacks: right next to highway, didn’t see any trails for a morning hike or bike ride, but playing by the river sufficed. This was a far better option than gypsum campground down the road. This would also be a great choice to set up shop if you want to get in the car and do day trips to other places

Lovely camping on the Eagle River in late Spring. Lots of hummingbirds and swifts to entertain us, as well as the rafters going by. 2-3 of the 6 sites could fit our 36' rig towing a Jeep.
