Splendid scenery, beautiful clean empty campground, nice host. Worth a stop all on its own. Magical in January. Cold at night.

A hidden gem. Offering outstanding views at the foothills of the eastern Sierras. Lots of room with mostly flat spots and clean vault toilets. $5.00 a night. Our magnificent public lands. I witnessed one of the best sunsets from the roof of my van. Coming back!

Stayed at the end of April. Writing this review on the 2nd day. Sites are large and well spaced. Most have 1 or 2 trees. About 10 people here and none right next to us. Very quiet. Restrooms are clean and oderless. No potable water only creek water. Have not found any hiking trails yet, but hope to follow the stream up towards the mountains (Sierras) in the next day or so. It is so beautiful we plan to stay at least a week. Wind comes and goes and is pretty intense at times but a welcome amenity on sunny days when it has been in the 80’s. We are in a tent so guy lines were essential. Would definitely stay here again because senior pass gets us in for $2.50/night.

15$ for a walk in site. Great views of the sierras and Inyo's. Pretty quiet when I can here in late March 2018. I think this is to due with its location that is between towns and easy to miss on 395 if your driving fast. A bit windy but as to be expected with most campsites in the area. A little overpriced if you ask me.

We stayed here in midApril, and it was extremely windy! We loved this Campground, though! It has huge sites, pretty level, lots of privacy, clean and odorless vault toilets, and a Creek running through it. The views of the Eastern Sierras are vast! We stayed in a 24 foot trailer, only 4 other campers here! Recommended, especially for $5.00, or $2.50, if you're old, like us!

Stayed 10/21 thru 10/24. 2016. Half a dozen campers. Nice, simple spot. Good access for all rigs. Took our motorcycle in and out. Water available at nearby Aberdeen on 395. Independence is 15 min south.

Very quiet nice basic camping. Beautiful views. New very clean bathrooms. No water. Such a good deal, $2.50 with access pass. Would definitely stay again. Some sites are pull thru and huge.

Great primitive BLM camping here. No facilities. Just great boondocking and nice views.
