Fantastic campground! We loved our campsite. We stayed in a rv spot with full hookups. The tent pad was hidden in the palmetto and was big enough for almost any size tent. The rv spot was very large and mostly private. The "comfort stations" where very clean. The splash pad was large and the trails where beautiful. Large enough for hikers and bikes. You could almost take the trails from the campground to the splash pad. Over all we loved our stay and already planning our return visit.

This park lived up to our expectations based on other five star reviews. The washrooms and laundry are excellent, the sites are large, level and well separated. The trails were muddy but that’s probably common in spring. A previous review says that the electrical hookups were on the wrong side. We did not see that. All sites are back-in, and our hookups were on the correct (driver) side. Although I didn’t do a full survey, it seemed that other sites were also on the driver side.

Very nice park! Nice sized sites; only issue is that the electric hookup poles are on the wrong side (passenger side). What?! We’d never seen that before. There’s LOTS to do here….a splash pad, canoe launch & canoe trails, a big boat launch, lots of pavilions, very nice cabins, hiking & biking trails, even a red iris bloom event! Great place!

Beautiful large park with water access for canoeing. We only stayed one night so didn’t explore as much as we would’ve liked. The sites were extremely private with enough foliage in between for privacy. Bathrooms and laundry facilities were exceptionally clean and modern. Senior discount for 62 and over. Would definitely recommend.

This is a nice state park, but getting here is certainly an adventure. We spent 3 nights there in April and the roads to get here are some of the worst I have driven on. Some of the roads in and out of Abbeville, LA are worse than dirt BLM roads, but these are paved. We came off of I-10 and some of the roads even had water running over them from the water coming out of the levees. Drive the roads in and around Abbeville with caution. There are beautiful mangrove swamps right next to the road just before you get to the park entrance. We were in a class C and were doing 20 mph 0n 55 mph roads because they are truly that bad. I would not drive a class A motorhome on the roads here. Some have lanes so narrow and trees sticking out in the road you need to drive on the center line if you’re driving a large rig. The office staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and the bathroom/showers were clean. Some site are level, but ours was not. There is a lot of wildlife in the park, and it is basically in a swamp, so if you don’t like mosquitos and bugs you might want to re-think this park. We enjoyed the park, but the roads to get here would keep us from visiting again.

Great state park - love the 1/2 off due to the National pass for they honor it - sites are level and the trails are nice. Bathrooms are really great with laundry - 2 bars of ATT

I’m stingy with 5 star reviews but this one has it all. Big level sites, full or partial hookups. Gorgeous setting, nice staff, clean restrooms and laundry. Playground, nature trails and splash pad for kids, fishing hiking and biking for all. We will be back!

This is a gem and one of the nicest parks we stayed in during our southern coast vacation. Very friendly people and the restrooms and laundry facilities are updated and very clean. Super nice place to stay. It is out of the way but worth the drive!

Love this place. Large private campsites. Surrounded by a Louisiana jungle. Fishing pond not far from campground. Great spot just to relax. Bath house is clean and updated!
