Rated 5-star because it is exactly what people who love KOA's are looking for....so if you are out in a tent, popup, truck camper, TT many 5'ers and class B's and most Class C....this is your place. While nothing is 100% most of those RV'ers have multiple children and most likely multiple dogs. They tend to spend most of their time outside the RV generally at picnic table. They get up at the crack of dawn, head to the bathroom, or walk the dog or at least sip their coffee around the picnic table with their dogs....the kids are running wild playing on all the things KOA provides....you get the picture. This is hog heaven for them....these are the people KOA is catering to. These are the heart of KOA's business model. So they get 5-stars for that. Now for the flip side, if you are an older couple traveling in a class A and not using the campground restrooms and showers. These RV'ers generally are not up at the crack of dawn, sitting at their picnic table with children and dogs. These RV'ers are generally sleeping. Starting at or before 6-am people started walking their dogs, as the dog passed each RV the dogs tied to the picnic table would-----gasp BARK....followed by doggie owner yelling to stop barking....you know the routine. OK, enough of that, it is what you can expect at a KOA and we knew it going in. The sites were level and large enough and most spots were in the shade. The owners and staff were as good as they get, could not ask for better. We pretty much knew what we were getting into but Peter D's, our go to RV Park in Sheridan, had no vacancies for the 5-days we were going to be in Sheridan and we called for reservations 5-mos in advance. Chew on that. That is why we were forced into the KOA....it was the best option available. One down side, many of their sites are water & electric only with central dump station. Chew on that. If you call for reservations and ask for a site most likely they will say "we have a vacancy for your size RV and those dates but it is water & electric only". Does that mean that they do not have a FHU site available?????? I suspect NOT. What I suspect they are doing is filling those Water & Electric sites using the verbiage presented above.....if you call to make reservations and they tell you they have a vacancy in a water & electric only----I would balk, say you want FHU, force their hand. If their is no FHU then you have to do what you have to do. Overall, if you love KOA's this is a great place. If you are not a KOA fan.....it is exactly what you expect

It’s a Koa. The sites are very close together. Our water pressure was minimal and the WiFi abysmal. Why advertise WiFi? Only stayed one night. That was enough for us.

Super nice staff. Very convenient location, easy to find. Nice pull thru for our 24ft Class C, with motorcycle trailer. Campground was nice...pool, kids playing. Sheridan is a quaint little town and I wish we’d gone into town to look around instead of blasting through to Sturgis. Maybe stop on the way home?

Very easy access off 90. Bathrooms adequate at best. Mosquitoes were thick. Noise from the freeway especially big rigs using jake brakes. Friendly folks at check in. Definitely stay again.

Stayed for one night with our big rig Super C 40' towing car trailer. 65' overall. No problems navigating inside campgrounds. Sites were nice and big, easy in easy out pull throughs. Ok dog walk/park. I would certainly come back and spend a couple nights if I was staying in the area.

One star because it being a KOA. We pulled in with a 35 ft fifth wheel, with a pull through reservation. Found driveways narrow and trying to figure out how to get between the narrow posts, scraped a truck parked into the drive area. There was no way to pull into the space with a 90 degree turn. Staff not helpful at all, didn't seem to know campsites. Old style campground was ok for our smaller trailer.
