After wilding for 5 days I thought it was time for a shower, so did everyone else. We decide on this campground for the shower facilities. NO WATER!! West Virginia still wants you to pay the same $30!!! Between the road noise, dogs barking and no water, this place blows

This is our 2nd trip staying at Stuart’s when visiting family in Elkins. Kids love the river to swim and play in and I like the privacy that most spots give you. Nice fire rings in each spot with picnic tables.

Stuart Recreation Area, USFS Campground is a great base from which to explore Elkins and the western approach to the Monongahela Forest. This trip, I drove out to Glady Fork (about 25 minutes from Stuart) and found some awesome dispersed campsites that were fifth wheel friendly, somewhat rare in West Virginia. Stuart offers paved campsite pads, 30 amp electric, several water spigots, and a dump station. Shavers Fork Creek runs through the Recreation Area, but the campground is not near the creek. There is a large grassy open area along the creek that is great for playing with Fido. AT&T cell reception in 2 bars LTE and Verizon has 1 bar on extended service.
