Nice campground with full hookups for $37.50 a night. The hill is steep but I’d say the length is less then a hundred feet and the curve was manageable for our 30 foot trailer. Very quiet and the mine tour was fun. I would definitely stay here again, great location to explore New River Gorge NP.

We spent one night here. The campground is very well maintained, sites seemed level. We registered at the office (the museum/shop) first. It was just under $37 for full hook ups. The hill up to the sites is VERY steep. We had no issue with our 25 foot travel trailer. We also did the mine tour, which was worth it. If you stay in the campground it gives you $7 off, making each adult $15. We would stop here again.

Loved the attraction but big rigs be aware the campground is up a very steep hill with a tight turn at the top. The directions to the campground are not good either. The exhibition staff are very friendly and if your rig is small (less than 35 feet, you will likely love it! Ours is a 40 foot 5the wheel and we hope we don’t drag on the way down.

Great location at a great price. The scenery is terrific. Staff are spectacular. Bring your leveling toolkit because you'll need it. The sites are close together and not level. The hill to get up to the sites is no joke - one way, blind curve and steep. You'll get a bit of a run up the first leg, but the curve at the top will squash that.

Campground ok and staff was nice but very tight space to back not well laid out for a campground. Going to the gift shop is not a good idea if you are pulling an rv but they don’t give you an option. All hookups are at the rear of the sight so it’s not convenient for newer large rvs. I will not stay here again or recommend it to anyone. Stayed here 5-18-19 in a 35 ft. 5th wheel

The people working here could not have been nicer. We went to the mine and coal exhibition buildings and they were excellent. The campground was small but well maintained. There were trash receptacles very close to campsites. There were picnic tables, fire rings, water and electricity and a place to dump grey water at our site. Trash was emptied a couple times a day and leaves were blown away. That was good because wet leaves on the paths were slippery. We had to unlock a wire to get access to our campsite and use a combination for restroom doors. We got our key and the combination when we registered. The area is very hilly and I worried that we couldn’t back in without hitting something or have trouble getting our camper level. It was surprisingly easy. So why the three stars? The restrooms were clean but very rustic. To get the electric service we had to run our cord under the camper. Trucks were very noisy because they had to be to navigate the hills. I could not imagine parking here after dark. Also, the signs weren’t clear. We had to register at the mine gift shop then drive to the campground up the hill. We overshot the place because the sign said camping (and they meant camping registration) so we drove to the dead end and had to back up around a curve to get out. There was a place to register at the campground from 5:30-9:30 PM. The cool thing about this campground was that there was a great variety of different camping configurations. We saw a retired military woman sleeping in her brand new car, an origami tent trailer, huge rigs and lots of tents. There was a fitness trail and we were close to town which included a great quilt shop.

Perfect spot to spend the night either before or after visiting the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine. We didn't use the bathhouse so I can't comment on that. Not a bunch of restaurant options around and this campground and the entire Park is located in a residential area of town, but it's a small and perfect place for 1 night.

Neat, clean and tidy campground. Good place for an overnight stop. Not too far off the highway. There were both motor coaches and travel trailers here the night we stopped. Hilly and a steep turn into the campground entrance but you are in WV.

It is pretty hilly to get to your site, but for the price, it was nice. The scenery was nice. Very friendly town. Would stay again.
