I’m in this campground right now. Very private sites and they’re pretty level with dirt base. This is mid week so there aren’t many other campers. Bathrooms are nice and clean. The shower layout is a little weird with one changing area for two showers! I showered in the camper. There has to be a master plan for improving the sites because ours and about half the others have trees cut down and laying on the ground. It really is an unattractive mess. I’m hoping the next phase is cleanup. Overall a nice park. If you use Allstays like I do, please write reviews! Give as well as take. This is a super app and our input makes it better.

Hartman is an excellent park but I won't rate it 5 stars because of the over the top rangers. I've stayed there many times and have to agree with other reviewers (not here but on internet) who complain about being harassed for trivial, petty stuff by the ranger staff. They can be like Barney Fife itching to get his bullet out of his pocket, before total chaos breaks out?. I live in Wisconsin and have camped all over the state and never experinced anything like these rangers. It's like they have a quota of write ups per shift and they have to find something?. One ranger will tell you park this way and the next one 15 minutes later will tell you park that way?, that kind of petty stuff. Other than that, a very nice state park, just be prepared for the Barney Fife antics.

Friendly people. Helpful. Great park but the trees have grown too close for some sites clearance.
