I stayed 6-20 and 6-21-2025. My site was pretty large and mostly pretty level, although with all the recent rain, half my parking area was a huge puddle. Because the pad was so large and I’m in a van, I was able to work around it. Sites were nicely spaced so you didn’t feel cramped by your neighbors. Lots of trees and a nice hiking trail from the campground to the visitors center. There were other trails from the campground as well, giving a few options for things to do right from the campground. All easy trails. No cell coverage with Verizon.

This would be a five star for all NON-big rigs. But do to very tight access and predominately shorter campsites, the beauty was offset for us a bit by the anxiety of navigation. We camped mid-week and thankfully found one pull thru that was a great site for our 45’ and tow. Space B49 is just about the only big rig friendly spot.
Access issues aside, the park is awesome with many trails and a visitor center. The small town of Newhalem is historic and fun. Waterfalls, rivers, and lakes abound.
