Could be a nice location, depending on the weather. We tried staying in mid-April, which was unusually cold. The "camp sites" were on a muddy trail, with the "sites" haphazardly placed alongside some trees. Although all was good when we made a two-night reservation, by the time we actually arrived the owners had posted a 'no water available due to freeze' notice on their website. We didn't check the website each day leading to our arrival, whereupon at check-in we discovered the campsites had no water (due to the impending freeze). Based on camping in the mud and no water, we decided to leave, receiving no refund (and not really expecting any), but hoping for some kind of adjustment based on a same-day change of site conditions (no water). We would not try this campground again; not worth the exorbitant price.

April 2022 - best location for camping if you’re going to ride the Creeper Trail. The trail head is probably 200ft from the entrance to the campground. Very basic camping experience, but a nice shift from modern RV parks. Wi-Fi is only available at the camp store. Very nice bathrooms and shower rooms. Husband and wife that own and operate the campground live on site and are very friendly. Bring what you need, you’re quite a ways from civilization!!!

Great rustic campground in the mountains! Recommended for families and couples alike. We took a 42' RV up to the top of the site where full hookups were available...a little tight but do able. Olef and family are definitely there to make your stay stress free and enjoyable...WiFi was available as well as bike rentals for the Creeper Trail, just be ready for a $15 ish per person charter back to the campground from Damascus. All in all we had a great time and will definitely stay here again!
