Camped here many times and volunteered as camp host. 鈥淎鈥 loop was a CCC build in the 1930s but has been meticulously maintained. 鈥淏鈥 and 鈥淐鈥 loops are much newer and have electricity. Max rig length in A loop is 28 feet and they mean it due to paved road through the woods. B and C loops will accommodate big rigs but all sites are back in. This is a very popular campground especially on weekends. Lower lake has a sandy beach for swimming. Lots of hiking trails. Almost all sites are well spaced out and most are shaded. There is a large group camp area as well that lacks designated sites and is for scout groups and church or family reunions. This is one of our favorite places to go.

You must reserve your site before Arriving. $27 per night with golden Age pass included electricity, (which is seven dollars extra). Nice bathroom/ showers. Showers with high & low shower nozzles, a bench, multiple hooks and locking doors! (A divider separates the private shower from it鈥檚 main changing area.) sites are perfectly flat beautifully maintained Pea gravel. Each has its own bearproof food locker, huge table, grill & lamp post. My Site in the B loop had an extra picnic table further in the woods, Lots of trees so sites are shady, but most brush has been removed so you can see your neighbor. Some sites our spaced well, but others are quite close. Nice and quiet on a Friday and Saturday.

Nice park - level sites - electric - att 1-2 bars - just beware if you leave the blue ridge parkway be sure your brakes are up to the challenge of the curve芒鈧劉s and down hill approach

Lovely campground with large, meticulously maintained sites. Potable water for RV water fill is in a separate location from the dump station - it is over the bridge, on your left, between 2 parking lots. Look for the 芒鈧揜V potable water fill芒鈧 sign. Spigot is next to a small building.

We ended up here because the campground on the blue ridge parkway was still closed mid May. It was a good spot for one night, but nothing special. We were only here for one night. No hookups.

Pick your site carefully. We were here mid summer 2018 to ride (bikes). Our first site had no shade and with the temps in the upper 90s it was hot! Even with 2 AC units going in our 30ft International. We moved to a walk up site that was fully shaded and were all much happier including the pups. The sites are large and paved. There are nice hiking trails, a big fishing pond, sherando lake (which gets very busy with day visitors). There is good bike riding to and on the Blue Ride parkway and offshoot dirt roads (like Coal rd). About 1/2 hr drive to get groceries and gas and yummy Mexican food in Staunton.

We were there in May 2017. We were impressed, clean sites, bathrooms & campground area. Best of all the people were friendly and went above and beyond all expectations. We will return soon! Jon & Ann
