This review is based solely on the campsite and does not consider the water park or playgrounds.
Although the park is very clean, few sites are even near level. Site 50 is one of the worst. The driveway is configured opposite than the normal angle away from traffic flow. This requires that you jack-knife your truck and trailer to back into the site. Once in, you must back to the rear of the site in order for a chance of leveling. This will park you so far from the hookups that extensions will be needed. Parking closer to hookups risks your trailer rolling down the hill.
For privacy and a level site choose site 8.

Short 2 nights stay so did not do much at park. It芒鈧劉s pretty and easy off 95. Our site 33 is for large RV but hard to get I to because of trees. Site very un level Check out is 11am and they do hunt you down when your not gone they will charge more.

A bit pricey, but this is a beautiful place to camp in the fall. We loved our 3 day weekend here so much that we ended up going back for Thanksgiving weekend! Many large spaces with a variety of hookup options, all gravel spaces. New electrical podiums at every spot with 50/30 at all. Our favorite elec/water spot is 24, almost completely level and very deep back-in spot the backs to the center field. Our favorite full hook-up spot is 50, though it is on a hill. Our 22芒鈧劉 TT sat perfectly level at the top of this site and gave us lots of privacy because it is spaced so well from neighboring spots. Pull- through spots require some serious leveling gear on hand (#17 we needed about 6-7芒鈧 on right side to get 芒鈧揳lmost芒鈧 level). Comfort Stations were clean and also have laundry ($2 wash/$2 dry quarters only, no change machine on site). Dump station by entrance/exit/store. Everyone who works here is incredibly friendly and helpful, and played a big part in our return visit! Can芒鈧劉t wait to return in Spring and Summer to access the seasons amenities we didn芒鈧劉t get to check out yet. Very quiet park during the fall, and if you are okay with $40-$50ish per night, this is a wonderful place to visit!

This is the second time we芒鈧劉ve stayed. The park is very nice and depending on your site can accommodate a large Class A. Ours it 44芒鈧劉 and we had plenty of room. New 50 Amp service recently installed on what looks like all sites. Some sites have water and some don芒鈧劉t, but you fill up at teh park office. Dump station near the office. This is very close to both Alexandria and DC.

Very quiet park very clean they have trash pick up At the site. The waterpark is awesome. The only thing to supporting was there wasn芒鈧劉t any small play places for very small children. AT&T Verizon and Sprint had available streaming service. On my list of places to visit again.

A very nice wooded and quiet park with lots of space and nature around. There's a water park very near the campground (extra charge) - wasn't open during this time of year but looked neat from our drive by. They have a nice playground and a trail that leads to boating and kayaking (extra cost) on the Potomac. We saw bald eagles flying above the river and cool shells in the banks. DC is a short drive from here - just 25 miles and it took about 35 - 45 minutes in the traffic, which worked out great for our crew. It doesn't feel that close though because it was so peaceful and quiet. We ended up being here during a big nor'easter and got snowed on. The trucks came by frequently plowing the roads even inside the camping areas so we felt very confident that they were on top of things. We ended up staying an extra day and left after the snow melted a bit. Taking off one star because we felt it was a bit pricey ($49 per night) for being a rustic park.

This place is a diamond in the rough! Campsites are beautiful and so well maintained. We are in a 41' Mountain Aire and booked early to get a lovely site, although the larger sites are scarce. Check when you book as the sites vary from tenting to RV full hook ups. Proximity to D.C. Is excellent but you would never know how close you are. Granted, we are well insulated, but peace and quiet reigns! Rt 1 South has a 13'4" bridge but there is an alternate route in so check your clearance. This is our second visit and we will be back!

Lovely park with gorgeous trees. Well paved roads. Spotless bathhouses and laundry. Nice campstore. Very nice staff. 30 min to Washington DC. Close to shopping, fuel and freeways yet feels very secluded and quiet. Some noise from air canons used to get rid of geese as this is next to Potomac river. Also quite a few helicopters but didn't detract from peace and privacy. We stayed here in November so it wasn't crowded. This campground is better suited to rigs 35 feet and under. About 8 sites appropriate for bigger rigs. We stayed with 40' toyhauler and only a few sites worked for us. Sites need leveling. We got 60 over the air tv channels but no wifi except at office. Will definitely return.

We camped here on our recent visit to DC and Mount Vernon. It was perfect! We love a campsite that is nestled among the trees and has the feel of a state park vs they parking lot feel. This park is exactly that! We camp in a 25' motor home and there were big rigs as well as tents and pop ups all around us. But, every site we observed was shady. The roads are paved and our site was gravel. It was very close to Mt. Vernon (15 minutes) enabling us to go home and walk our dog and return for the afternoon. We also drove into Springfield Metro Station (30 min) and took the Metro into DC to tour the Holocaust Museum one day. The restrooms were tiled, updated, and spotless. The laundry rooms had two oversized washers and dyers (coin only.) So, while were were there one morning I did two weeks' laundry very easily. The only negative about this park as others have states, some of the sites are not level.
